Visited on NYE with our two young boys, we all really enjoyed our food and the waiters were so nice. Initially they said our children had to have a 55euro a head set meal (special for NYE) but kindly agreed to do something special for them instead - some delicious meat balls. We all loved the garlicky prawns to start and the chocolate ice cream dome was also a big hit. Great chips and main courses too. Would recommend to all.

We booked Le Bistro knowing nothing about it (other than seeing the Trip Advisor reviews) during a weekend city break to Brussels. The first thing that hit us on entering the restaurant last night was the friendly and upbeat staff. They were chatty and very helpful and even interested in knowing who they had visiting their restaurant asking about our stay and where we'd travelled from etc. As we were leaving one chap even gave us pointers on where to go and what else to do (he highly recommended Antwerp!). We all ordered the burger and shared a bottle of wine. The wine was quite dear at €27.5 but the burger was more reasonable at €16 - it was succulent and delicious. In summary, quite pricey but their service was worth it and the staff made the place. Infectious happiness.

We ate here twice during our stay. the food was great. It’s a somewhat limited menu but we were very happy with the selection. We ate steak which was perfectly cooked and the hose red was very nice for €19. The staff greeted us like old friends and we were made to feel relaxed and valued. Loved everything about it.

We had dinner here during a visit to Brussels. The Good. 1. The restaurant specialises in traditional Belgian food in a casual setting. The decor and bar look great. 2. The food we had was all excellent and good value. The garlic prawns were amazing- and pungent- the moules frites were also great and plentiful in a white wine sauce whilst the Beef Carbonnade was excellent. Chips were great too. The chocolate mousse dessert was good. 3. The service was some of the best I have seen. The waiters were really friendly and efficient despite being busy. They even went outside to hail a cab for us. 4. There was a good range of alcohol especially beers. The Bad 1. The tables are a little cramped and the location is a little away from tourist areas Overall Great place for a taste of Belgium with great service. Will return when back in Brussels and highly recommended.

Came here on a Saturday evening, place was full and busy. The staff was friendly and efficient, the best part of visit. Food was quite basic, but the prices seemed quite high (price/quality -ratio was a bit low in our opinion). All in all, good but nothing that special

Authentic Belgian restaurant. I would recommend to have their Mussels, famous Belgian speciality which are available in four different options. Chef took an effort to give a spicy touch to my Salmon and Chicken skewer, knowing Indian love for spicy food which I personally appreciate. A mild music made an atmosphere for perfect dinner. And finally a complementary mint tea just added a refreshing end to the evening.

Le Bistro is not in the tourist hot spots, and it feels like there were a lot of locals dining on the day we went: always a good sign. It was a hot day and the tables out side many and full. The decor inside is quite smart and almost industrial, not classic bistro interior but very pleasant. However on a sunny Sunday afternoon it was all about the outside. The food was uniformly really good. The menu has a bit of everything - it’s meat heavy as you might expect but there there are vegetarian options. I had cheese croquettes and veggie lasana which was very tasty. Dining Companion had garlic prawns followed by rabbit stew and raved about both. The front of house staff work really hard to keep the food coming and everybody happy. Service was friendly and brisk. We did have a small issue when our main course was delayed, but it was resolved quickly and we were given complimentary limoncello at the end of the meal, which I guess was a compensation, not that I was looking for any, The bill for 2 people: 2 courses, plus 3 beer each was €90. In my opinion fair value. I go back to the vibe in Le Bistro: buzzing, full of locals and clearly popular. I think that’s the best endorsement. Recommended.

Visited there after reading the review and essentially a great night. We arrived and recommend you book beforehand as does get busy ! Was not long before we went to our table upstairs. Waiters we great and we ordered Mussels for me, the Spag Bol for my son and my wife had the Flemish Beef Stew. The mussels and spag bol was amazing ! not tha case for the Stew though, the meal was solid, either overcooked or jsut a bad cut of beef, this is why I have not scored a 5 out of 5, but to be fair to Le Bistro they did take the meal off the bill which was a great touch and explained they will investigate why it was like that. On our way out they also offered us a shot on the house..so all in all apart from the beef a great meal ! Recommend to others

We first ate here as a couple - opted for an indoor table to soak up the bistro atmosphere. Service was friendly and efficient. We shared the shrimp croquettes and beef carpaccio appetizers (both delicious) and for mains had the salmon with bernaise sauce (yum) and the transitional rabbit stew (great flavour but dry) and Belgian beers of course. Seeing they had outdoor tables for 6 and knowing some of our group would not dine inside, we booked again for the next night. The same dishes (minus the stew and adding the fish of the day) were excellent. The only dud was the burger which disappointed both people for the meat and bun quality - “good not great.” Lastly, on an afternoon tour of art galleries I suddenly realized I was close to the restaurant so I stopped in for a cold drink on the patio - again, friendly service and a nice spot for people watching. I left Brussels with a warm feeling towards this place and would dine here again if in a big group.

We were really excited to finally try this place out, as the reviews were pretty good about it. From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us with open arms! Our servers George and Georgio truly went above and beyond the entire night! The were both very attentive, friendly, and with some great recommendations! The place itself is really cool, both inside and outside. The atmosphere is very laid back, and you knew the place was gonna be since it was completely packed with locals. We really liked the cheese and shrimp croquettes, and the wine was delicious. My wife loved her rabbit stew, and I couldn't have chosen better with the Flemish beef stew. This is such a nice restaurant with an awesome atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff is a team of all stars! The energy and vibe all night was amazing, and concluded with a dessert and digestif on the house! We can't wait to be back there again soon.

Went there multiple times this summer with some friends and we have never been disappointed. We tried different dishes on the menu, my favourite was the « scampi maison », and the lasagna was delicious too. Service is perfect, the waiters took their time to help us choose and we didn’t wait too long to get our orders. Definitely would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a cosy place in Brussels to eat tasty food.

Visited with our sons aged 12 and 6. Busy outside and downstairs but some tables left upstairs and a lovely atmosphere. Had the most gorgeous family meal, ordered the bolognese (small portion for the youngest), arrabiata, salmon and meatballs. Received beef stew instead of meatballs but was the happiest accident as my eldest loved it anyway and we all had food envy!! The Bolognese I swear was an adult portion, our youngest ate way more than expected but looked like he hadn’t touched it - it was delicious. We were still only charged for a kids portion which is very generous. All the food was amazing, we were all very happy with our choices. Husband and I had a lovely glass of wine each. Our waiter was very polite and very sweet with our boys who wanted to ask for the bill themselves in French. Thoroughly recommend a visit here, we may well be back as we’re here for a couple more days yet! We’re all getting the beef stew!!

Le Bistro is located on Boulevard de Waterloo and is close to Porte de Hal metro station. I had booked a table online at 8 o’clock on a Monday evening and I was glad that I had done so as the restaurant was quite busy on my arrival. To start I had carpaccio of beef, knuckle of ham with mustard sauce for main course and Le Bistro dessert for afters. All were good, especially the knuckle of ham which was superb. This came with a large portion of frites. Le Bistro dessert was chocolate based and pleasant enough. To drink, I had a gin & tonic, half a bottle of house white wine and an Irish coffee. The gin and wine were fine, but the Irish coffee, as is often the case on the continent, was not so good. Squirty cream and far too sweet. Service was really good and the cost without service was €75.

We went there with my friend during the last night of our stay in Brussels because we wanted to eat mussels. What a discovery!!!! By far our best experience in Brussels. We had been quite disappointed in the Belgian customer service so far and Le Bistro managed to make us forget our bad experiences. All the waiters were extremely friendly and nice. There was a fun atmosphere for the whole time. And the food was delicious. Our only regret is that we wish we had enough appetite left to order a dessert! We will definitely come back if we go to Brussels again.

We visited on Christmas Day and really enjoyed the food and ambiance. We walked from Grand Place to the restaurant which was straightforward. Restaurant staff were very attentive and helpful with recommendations. Casual and well appointed. Worth a visit.
