Loud, crowded, dingy and the best boulets frites in town. If you wish to be immersed in Liege life, accent and good time you have found your spot.

I discovered this "café" years back when I visited the Batte on a Sunday, the largest market in Europe. Close to the Passerelle and at the end of the Batte is Café Lequet and they serve the BEST boulets & frites in town, these are meat balls (you can order one or two) with sauce "lapin", the sauce has nothing... We went there this Sunday after a visit of the Liege Sunday market along the river. It is a very typical place in Liege. Very authentic atmosphere. Mr Lequet is warmly welcoming his clients and he is very funny. We ate very good meat balls. Best I ever had in Liege. I recommend going there to try them while also... More

We came here because we wanted to try the traditional boulette liegeoise and the receptionist at our hotel recommended it. What she failed to tell us is that this is really just a place for locals and that non-French speaking tourists are not welcome. My family and I arrived about 15 minutes prior to opening because it took us less... More

I ate more than once at this cafe: I live in Liège and I like to take my friends and relatives there. The "must eat" is the traditional dish of Liège: boulette liégeoise et frites. It is a meatball in bitter-sweet sauce and Belgian fries (please do not call them French). I really love this dish and I think that... More

This is a typical place where to eat the "boulet frites" from liege. I recommend it since it is definitively something you should try if you go to Liege.

This café is very well known in Liege. Some local people take the lunch or diner there. But frankly, I come for its famous atmosphere, because its patron is very special and therefore he gives a very special atmosphere. But if you dislike the fast eating or being sent out by the patron, do not go there during the mealtime.

This is what we call in Belgium a 'bruine kroeg' (brown bar). This is the type off bar that is not well lighted, cozy has a no nonsense atmosphere. Imagine a Irish pub. This is this kind off place. You come here for a pint and the meatballs. The meatballs are perfect and fresh. The meat used is super. The... More
