Mussels were all shriveled up and did not have a pleasant taste (found out later that March is not mussel season and they should not even be served to people during certain months) and the vegetarian lasagna was heavy and bland. Drinks were expensive.

Bruges is a living museum strongly geared to meet the needs of the tourist so it was not difficult to find the rustic 't Vagevuur Restaurant offering local dishes just off the market square. Onion soup, beef stew, pomme frittes and Belgian beer served by a bright attentive waitress covered all the bases. It was pleasing to enjoy good quality... More

We went as a group and were not at all impressed. The food was not up to standard, we were 13 and had 2 plates of chips for all of us When we asked we did get an extra plate. The mussels tasted dry and there was no sauce. There was supposed to be vegetables served with the mussels but... More

Nice meals at affordable prices, the business card i got says number 23, this on line says number 43 - the picture looks right. Try and go for it - ignore the street numbers - look for a restaurant that looks like on the picture.

Just walking looking for a place to eat. This establishment had a nice appearance, a menu easily in view outside and a friendly staff member who invited us in. Friendly, rustic interior with seating on two floors. Good selections of tasty foods on the menu and good local beer. There were three of us each having a different selection and... More

Great little place for a good Belgian meal and even better Belgian beer. Wife and I ducked in during a rain shower and the staff made us feel very comfortable. Starters and beer were very good and we were able to wait out the storm without feeling rushed.

It was open on a thursday evening (lots of places not) so we went in and ordered off the set menu. It was only an extra 2 euros on top of the main course actual price to have a starter and desert (small starter and desert obviously)! The starter was ok but the main was excellent. The desert was 2... More

We enjoyed traditional beef stew, rabbit stew, saucy chicken. Service could have been better. Waiter needed fresh shirt.

greeted by Sebastian who was very polite &a friendly. He explained the menu very well in English. We had a lovely traditional Flemish dinner. The service was excellent compliments to the chef as well. We would recommend this for a romantic meal or with friends.
