One of the best things about Portugal is hunting down the local pastries that are special to every town, usually developed in the local convent. In Évora, this is the place to get it. A bit more expensive than some other pasteis, but delicious nonetheless. Don't be distracted by the other more appealing items in the window, get that Pão... More

Small traditional cafe/cake shop. Wonderful range of cakes! A good stop for breakfast or to recharge the batteries after sightseeing!

Fantastic cakes with unique flavours. The cake to try is the pao de rala. Cafe also serves decaffeinated coffee .

Supberb coffee and yummy pastries. It's located just a little out of the main centre but worth the effort to visit. A great find!

The only word for this tiny corner is "Perfect". Each dessert / pastry was full of passion. So delicious. I wouldn't know how to really describe them all in short. But seriously, this is the kind of place for me. Forget those fancy look dessert. These pieces of cake will bring you out of the world.

Great place to start the day. The coffee is good, the orange juice perfect, the food delicious, the service good (friendly, helpful, willing to both speak English and try to understand our very poor Portuguese). The place itself is beautiful, decoration, furniture, pictures, even the bathroom is worth seeing!

When we arrive, we notice that the owner was feature in the cover of Epicure magazine. Well, we got an almond cake that was from out of this world. Moist,... More

If you are on a diet don't come here!!! The most amazing sweets made with eggs on the traditional Portuguese way. We asked the owner how many eggs they used a day: 2.000 egg yolks only!!! Wonderful.

I almost decided not to stop at this place, the Conventual bit in the name put me off initially, but then the smell dragged me in. We had the almond cake which is divine (3 EUR), a French golden sweet toast and pasteis, all at 1 EUR each. Coffee was 0.70 :) Not sure what people expect to pay for... More
