This restaurant serves original dishes made with local produce. The owner Jorge presents the produce and explains the menu with a lot of enthusiasm. He can adapt the dishes to your taste and he makes sure that he cooks it to your taste. This is an easy place for vegetarian options. This restaurant is not as cheap as a typical restaurant but you also don’t get typical food. The menu changes frequently according to seasonal produce.

We were meandering around Evora on Christmas Day and discovered that Momentos was open for lunch. We ate here a year ago on our last trip and still have fond memories of a memorable meal, so in we went. As always, the freshness and innovation of the food here really impressed us. We love that the food is sourced locally and the enthusiasm of everyone from the owner to the wait staff for giving you a sensational dining experience. It's not an inexpensive meal but it is unique, fresh and exciting. Well worth it.

This charming restaurant is a gem: The menu is personally presented by the chef and the friendly and helpful staff will recommend dishes tailored to your mood and preference. In all dishes, top quality local ingredients, fresh herbs and vegetables play a key role, without neglecting fish or meat lovers. The experience is very cozy, friendly and personal, with beautiful and delicious meals served in a home-like atmosphere (the restaurant only serves 6 tables or so). We were suggested a nice Alentejo wine to accompany our dinner. Good food, excellently prepared with a very friendly and personal service - striking a very good price/quality ratio: highly recommended!

One of the best dinners we’ve had in Portugal - ever! Top quality ingredients sourced from, wherever possible, the best producers in the region. This means that the dishes might change from week to week, or even from one day to the next, depending on what is available. This also explains the somewhat higher prices, but if you prefer cheap food to quality than just don’t come her. Some restaurants may use bits of fruit and sprigs of herbs as a garnish, here they are so good they really add flavour and enhance the overall sensation. Service is friendly, attentive, and interactive... We learned a lot about the chef’s philosophy regarding the sourcing of ingredients and their use. We had lentil soup and the portobello mushroom with vegetable escabeche as starters, followed by lamb and tuna as mains; all of top quality. Accompanied by an interesting, oak aged red (VolteFace), quite complex and mature for a 2019 vintage. We paid just over 100 euros which, of course, is more than what one would spend on an average meal but Moments is far above average, it must be one of the best restaurants in the country. We’ll definitely be back whenever we return to Évora - this restaurant might even be the main reason for coming to Évora again.

The staff is pleasant, the owner very friendly. The food is presented in an artistic fashion but somehow almost everything we ate lacked flavor. The mushroom appetizer was bland. My husband's fish not to his taste. My partridge lacked flavor. There were little heaps of spices on the plates to add to the food but this didn't really help. To tell the truth, the owner/chef was overly solicitous and we were not brave enough to tell him that we weren't really enjoying the food. Prices were not cheap. The atmosphere was pleasant and the wine and desert quite good. But the food could have been better.

We ate here based on trip adviser reviews. We ordered a bottle of house red, but did not look at the wine menue, a mistake. We were given a bottle of Alto de capela 2019, and after the waitress had removed the foil she advised Euro 23 a bottle. Expensive for portugal. My wife sent the soup back as it was luke warm but was nice when heated up. Convert had very nice cheese. My wife ordered salmon which was good, I ordered black pork fillet with fig dressing at euro 20, it was tough, dry and not very good. Owner , chef asked me if I enjoyed it and I said no, dry and chewy, he advised that it was supposed to be like that, what a pork fillet??? Totally under whelmed and expensive, we left after paying euro 73, we also had a bottle of water and bread with the soup.

Booked this restaurant for dinner based on reviews. Chef Jorge is wonderful. He is involved in explaining his menu and how he combines the ingredients into such special meals. The waitstaff were attentive and friendly. The wine list highlights local producers. We will definitely go back. We both had the pork tenderloin so Jorge put different vegetables on our plates to make them different. The prawn and passionfruit entree and black pork entree were delicious.

Hands down the greatest meal of our entire lives. My wife and I have never walked away from a meal saying that was possibly the greatest experience (read: top highlight of a trip) and this was definitely the top highlight of our entire Portugal trip. George (the head chef) came out and personally presented the menu (with the food he was going to serve). He then let us pick what records we played on the record player (obviously we chose Sinatra). He came out and just gave us something he had concocted that day as a “starter” and it was delicious. We had the vegetable soup, the grilled mushrooms (which were out of this world), the salmon (which was also incredible), and the pork cheek (was fell off the bone and I was giddy at how delicious it was). It was the perfect meal and George paired it with some great wine that was still very affordable. The creativity in the presentation and the cooking of this farm to table style was truly something we’ve never experienced. The veggies were fresh and really enjoyed the smoked salt that accompanied the three dishes. They say that the restaurant Tasca do Celso is synonymous with Vila Nova de Milfontes, however we strongly believe that Momentos should be a must stop for anyone in Portugal (not just Evora). Kudos to George and his whole team for creating something wonderful. The best part…we told George and his staff that we were going to write and a good review and he said “that doesn’t matter to me, what matters is the smile I see on your face”. What a legend!!

We stumbled upon this restaurant as we walked the beautiful streets of Evora looking for a place for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised to find Momentos. Welcome, safety and hygiene was impeccable. The attention to detail on the menu and the chefs explanation of his special bespoke meals was fabulous. In light of the current times: the use of a blackboard with the chefs explanation of the menu is a very good example of safety and hygiene as well as social responsibility. The dining experience from start to end was scrumptious. Portion size Perfect and the use of only organic produce offers peace of mind. The antiques, artwork and pictures on the walls of the restaurant tell a story of the chef, and his many travels around the world. I loved the vintage record player and choice use of classic jazz and local music. I can’t fault this dining experience. All members of staff were attentive and receptive at all times.

Just had the best meal at Momentos that we have had in Portugal. Memorable. A visual feast as well as a taste extravaganza. Jorge was extremely helpful and friendly, giving us information about local produce and cheese purveyors. We can hardly wait to return, again, and again. SO glad we live nearby! This was a meal that truly took us "into the moment."

We visited Momentos last night for dinner and enjoyed a wonderful evening of good food, drink and hospitality. George, the owner, delighted us with stories of his adventures abroad and helped us chose delectable starters (eggplant tempura shaped like cigars and cheese, sauteed mushrooms) followed by a vegetable and shrimp curry delight. The local white wine complemented the meal. The friendly chef from Nepal visited our table and made our meal complete. The two female staff were very friendly and attentive.

What a neat place with wonderful food. George, the owner, is obviously proud of his work. There is a small dining area in front and slightly larger in back. There is a record player in the back playing old albums softly. As our table was next to it, we had option to select and queue records as necessary, more or less. George comes to your table with a large menu board with appetizers on one side and entrees on the other. He explains each dish and will come back multiple times to answer questions. It is clear he wants to make sure you are pleased with your selection. The food was wonderful and the service fantastic. Both George and Deborah, our server, were around to make sure we were happy.

We visited this restaurant because of the ratings. The restaurant is intimate and small, but could use a little bit more personality, it looked messy in my opinion. The food is good, but definitely not worth the 60 euros we spend (1 starter, 2 main courses, a bottle of water and 2 glasses of wine...). My food lacked salt and flavor. The quality-price ratio is unbalanced. I must say that the service was good, the 2 waitresses and the chef were very nice to us.

We were very much looking forward to our dinner, and were very disappointed. Soup and salad entrees were mediocre at best. Beet salad was mostly lettuce with a few pieces of beets, and pear soup was watery. Mains were edible but not worth price.

The chef showed us the raw ingredients used to make each dish as we chose our dinner and helped us chose an interesting, complementary menu. The food was a taste of paradise. The ingredients are fresh and the taste combinations are delightful. The restaurant has a warm, gracious and relaxed ambience as George, the chef, assists each table personally throughout the meal. The wonderful meals are enough to bring us back to Evora again.
