Don't expect brisk modern dining. Things here are done the old way with a 3 man team of husband wife and son, and when they are ready. This has a charm if you have time, but dont go if you are in a hurry and desperate to eat quickly. At lunchtime on a Monday we arrived at 1:30 pm and... More

When you enter this restaurant for the first time one immediately notices that no one really pays attention to you. There are 3 people working inside: the father cooks. the mother serves the food and the son organises the tables, serves the drinks and the food. Don´t hurry, don´t push around for a table. Just relax and wait until you... More

We were a bit perplexed that this restaurant was empty when the one next doo was rammed. We were with a friend who lives in Portugal and eats there regularly so we went in anyway. We got a warm welcome from the diminuitive hostess and her husband in the kitchen. We had good calamari and an excellent arroz do peixe... More

Although it is said that the peculiarly uncaring customer service and a menu defined "in the moment" are part of the charm of the place... The truth is that the place is awfully decorated, has a rude service, has an unenthusiastic menu and the food is well below average. Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! Instead go to Eira do Mel... In the... More

Dining here is quite the experience. It is a real Portuguese restaurant, ran by an older lady and her husband (the chef). We had the stuffed squid and the octopus stew. Both tasted amazing! Serving took some time, everything is done at a slow but steady pace. When the food is ready, it is served in pans which are placed... More

Don't expect a typical restaurant! With this attitude you will have an experience here. At the beginning me and my girlfriend were surprised about the simplicity and old style of the restaurant and the relatively high prices. We felt puzzled when our table was covered by a table cover full off small stains. As we don't speak Spanish We ordered... More

I remember watching Rick Stein on the rocks in Galicia with the fishing guys on ropes dangerously harvesting barnacles from the sea rocks and cliffs, I thought I need to try these, well the charming little old lady Lilita had some fresh and wow what a taste sensation, something like a cross between winkles and razor clams. Then she served... More

Cafe Correia is family business restaurant and one of the best in Algarve! Don't expect to find grilled fish or meat on the menu. The food is served on a pan and the best of all is the tomato rice with octopus. The husband is the chef and meals are prepared with real love You must go early because the... More
