My sister randomly stopped a local senhora who told us Piri Piri was her recommendation. The food was superb for all 4 of us on 2 separate occasions. Particularly recommend the octopus rice with seafood 12.95 euro, The crab 16.95 euro. Very surprised it's got a low rating on here as it deserves better..... We rarely give 5 stars to... More

Wanted some authentic Portuguese food. Wasn't disappointed. Apart from the fact that they didn't sell their Piri piri sauce to go. Great fresh seafood, good service. 10/10

Called in yesterday 17th April about 9.00 p.m after walking around the old town. Sat inside the restaurant and thought looks warmly and a family caring business-Dohhh Looks sure deceive in this establishment. O.k I appreciate they may have had a busy day and we were at the receiving end of it but sure no excuse for the following. Before... More

It was one of the few places open for Sunday dinner. Also, the restaurant was recommended to us by a local. Upon entering and seeing it doing a roaring trade, we thought "what luck!". Sadly, the food was such a letdown. The piri piri chicken dish was absolutely bland and dry, while the pork and seafood cataplana was bordering on... More

Looking for a proper seafood restaurant. This place was the best. Ordered a few different dishes with seafood, big portions. Crab and local wine were sooo good.

The dinner today was disappointing. The fish soup was tastless and was more a noodle soup than a fish soup. The fish (dourade) had lost most of it's taste on the BBQ and was dry. All was served on a plate with tastless, vegetables, which were even not propper warmed up. The salade, served on the same plate was not... More

The service at this little local restaurant is very friendly, and the seafood is absolutely delicious. I tried the piri piri prawns and monkfish in rice - both were cooked to perfection and very tasty. My partner raved about the fresh grilled sardines too. Don't be put off by the dated decor and noise from the crab tank - it's... More

Went for lunch in January when many restaurants are closed, and possibly the regular chef was on holiday. There was an elderly couple; the man serving and the woman cooking. Service was pleasant. The food was memorably bad. Had to go for a coffee to take the taste away. The restaurant has been there for generations, so presumably must be... More
