We have eaten here every time we come to Loule but must have just got an off night. The place was empty and hence lacked any atmosphere. The food was fine but not as good as we recalled and I was taken ill later in the evening which probably didn't help the situation. Nothing to do with the restaurant I... More

After the Saturday Loule Market we were fortunate to find a hidden gem on one of the back streets. We (5) were seated in a quiet vine-covered alcove. It was like having your own private patio. The service was top-notch and the food plentiful and hot. My husband and I both ordered the pork/shrimp kebabs. Fortunately they had 'doggie bags' as... More

We first ate here in October 2015 and as we'd loved the beautiful historic surroundings (not to mention the wonderful fireplace) we decided to return. Our food - peppered steak and mixed grill - was very tasty and the portions a sensible size (in some Portuguese restaurants we've struggled to finish). The starters - olives, carrots, pate and bread -... More

Unless you like waiting over an hour for food that is cold and probably not what you ordered in the first place give this one a miss. Loads of customers complaining, not enough staff. I felt sorry for the waiter who only started the day before. The owners had just opened after two months off and they would have done us... More

This seemed to be on of the only places open during my visit off season. the food was average / okay. seemed to be family run serving traditional Portuguese with other bits too. Was okay for lunch.

We were a party of 10 and running late for our reservation?? With my apology to Francisco who greeted us at the door for being late, who surprised at his good fortune We were not... More

The setting is wonderful and the food average. We went for lunch and the waiter took great pains to recommend the most expensive meals. He did not hide his disappointment when we all chose cheaper options! At the end he brought a hand written bill. He seemed uncomfortable when I said I preferred a printed bill (showing IVA/VAT).

Nice spot but food was old. Dry bread old chicken rice potatoes. Fries tasted like old oil. Entrees overpriced (olives etc). Best avoid

The setting makes this little restaurant so special. It is a little hidden away in the old part of Loule and, as its name suggests, is a walled courtyard where guests sit under umbrellas and among vines to enjoy their lunch or dinner. It opens early by Portuguese standards (a plus for us) and serves a fairly standard selection of... More

We have been to Loule four or five times in the last two years and stumbled upon this lovely restaurant while wandering the back streets. We were looking for somewhere to have a light lunch and when we saw the beautiful courtyard of this restaurant and spoke to Isabel , one of the staff , we decided to go in... More
