After a great day in this beautiful area we were lucky to find this gem of a place. The garden is sheltered and filled with colorful flowers and cork and olive trees. The hosts Coneita and Geraldino treat us with a friendly warmth and were a mine of information about the area. The food was traditional and tasty and our... More

Restaurant felt very crowed. We were there around 2:00, filled with tour-bus visitors. The meats we ordered had lots of spices, chorizo sausage was super oily. Basic salad, soup of the day was vegetarian but seemed to basically just have one ingredient. Have had much better Sangria everywhere else

My wife and I visited this restaurant with local friends of ours who had been here a few times. The drive up through the mountains is picturesque and the gardens around the restaurant are also very pretty. The food has a great local flavour and the specials are largely dependent on what the delicacy of the day is. E.g. We... More

We were pleasantly surliness that we could sit outside - the sun was shining but out on the road was very windy. This lovely tranquil spot is off the beaten track, but even if the weather is inclement they have a fabulous real fire to keep you warm. The host was friendly, informative about the menu and spoke at least... More

We had an early dinner here last night and everything was perfect. Amazing roast pork and potatoes, a good wind, and delicious chocolate mousse for dessert. The best part though was our personable young waiter who was attentive and charming,

We've been here so many times over the years that we have lost count. But it is always so worthwhile to come back. We like to come for Sunday lunch - it is essential to book because of the number of Portuguese families who eat there that day. Sundays has all sorts of exciting tasty dishes available. We always go... More

Trip Advisor has this restaurant listed twice, under slightly different addresses and one with a mobile phone, the other a landline. One listing is rated #4/31, the other #12/31. How this happens and why it hasn't been amalgamated into one listing I don't know! That said, we found ourselves up the mountain in thick rainy cloud on a cold January... More

We have been coming here for many years while being in the Caldas area. Especially during the winter time this rustic place offers a mountain chalet type atmosphere. Two fireplaces going guarantees cozy temps even during the coldest days. The service is friendly and you feel in an original authentic restaurant which does not see the necessity to go mainstream... Close to Monchique and not far from the Atlantic, this a place on mountain with a nice view. Served by owner who knows everything. Menu including various local specialties.
