This is a delightful family run restaurant , the owner is front of house and his wife runs the kitchen .Food is excellent and well worth a visit . During the season you need to make an advanced booking .

Very Friendly, helpful service, happy to discuss all the local food and introduced us to lupin beans which we had never eaten before. Excellent tasty tapas, which looked almost too good to eat. We tried warm goats cheese with fig jam on thin Melba toast, smoked salmon served on cucumber with capers and cream cheese and scrambled egg with Portuguese sausage.... More

First the good, the restaurant interior is a delight, and would suit a romantic date. The fish is fresh and well cooked, although the cataplana was slightly on the saltier side for us. Whilst prices were slightly higher than other eateries in the area, they were still on the reasonable side. However, service was a bit impersonal and slightly cold... More

When you decide to try a new restaurant without any clue what you want to look for it's always a big risk, but sometimes (not a lot) you have great surprises. A Casinha is a cozy, nice, simple and very charming place to be and visit. With a very polite staff, fast service and very high quality food. The fish... More

Last meal of week here and although great food- steaks cooked to your specification- was spoilt by having eaten twice at another restaurant. Still, the service was good and no complaints except the background music which was too jazzy But again that's personal preference!

Really tasteful restaurant with lovely decor and well trained staff. The food was of a great standard and where we tried Cataplana - had looked at this dish in various restaurants and were not too sure but this traditional dish was excellent. Delicious desserts and coffee ended a perfect meal.

Absolutely excellent restaurant and super super clean! Seldom you will find a restaurant that clean, even the inside of the roof outside! Wonderful starters - make sure to try the scrambled eggs with Portuguese sausage and the goats cheese with rucola. Great service who recommended us a perfect Portuguese wine to go with both chicken casserole and gambas curry. We... More

We had a nice evening in A Casinhas in Sagres. Smooth jazz, a well and authentic decorated dining room and friendly service. We ordered the house's special: a delicious cataplana of fish and meat. The recommended wine by the glass was a perfect fit. We ended with a nice apple pie dessert. Great place for a delicious Portuguese dinner.

Sagres is worth the visit for anyone traveling in the Algarve region of Southern Portugal. While you are there, make sure to stop in at A Casinha (The cottage) restaurant in town. It seemed to be popular with the locals and that's a good sign. It's also why we stopped in. Right away we understood why it was so popular.... More
