I booked this for our anniversary meal whilst on holiday in Faial and they did not disappoint. They had placed a beautiful rose on the table for my wife and lit a candle. The table had a great view of the harbour and the service was excellent with very friendly staff. The food was very fresh and the fillet steak... More

On the outside, the restaurant looks a bit dodgy, but entering the building we were grated by friendly waiters. This is not a 'fancy' place, basic chairs, and small tables, but when the food came, we were amazed. With this restaurant you choose a platter of food, and then grill it on a hot-stone. Platters of very fresh food, of... More

Enjoyed a very unique experience at the Canto da Doca. The restaurant specializes in the customer cooking their own food on lava stones. We shared a mixed platter of meat and seafood which was enough for two adults. The service is prompt and extremely friendly. The decor has a nautical theme. We would definitely return to this restaurant.

When you push the door, it is like entering in a boat. Then you cook your own food on a volcanic stone! This place is a perfect combination for a good meal, a pleasant ambient, an excellent service and a nice location with view over the marina of Horta. I will definitely go back there!

I know this restaurant for a few years and every time I return to Faial I dream about coming back. Knowing other restaurants in town I don't have doubts to confirm that this is the best restaurant in Horta: excellent atmosphere, great service, delicious and fresh food... Don't miss it if you visit Faial. You will come back :)

We ate here for the lava stone experience. It was great but the one in Angra do Herosimo was so much better that I bumped it down a star! I had the tuna and others had mixed plates. It was a lot of food and came with shoe string fries and a salad. There were sauces for dipping too. The... More

We came here on the recommendation of one of the local taxi drivers. Sat downstairs, it was about half full, shared a bottle of wine from Pico that was delicious, as well as the mixed grill. The mixed grill included limpets, octopus, tuna, shrimp, swordfish, chicken, pork and beef with two kinds of sauce for dipping and butter. The meat/fish... More

It was suggested by an outgoing couple to split an order, which was great advise. We ordered the special mix of meat and fish. We were each given a salad, fries and dips with our hot stone. Included were pieces of tender beef steak, shrimp, pork tenderloin, chicken, limpets, squid and 2 or 3 different fish. At least 2 pieces... More

We ate here October 16 for dinner. Had the fish and meat combination which was a good choice. Very good service and the lava stones easy to cook on. Nice Pico white wine with dinner and chocolate mousse to conclude. <€50 for two.
