Fresh orange really good. Good selection of ports, coffee good, prices fare and service fast and friendly even putting up with my poor Portuguese.

The room is special but not that nicely decorated and the famous cruzios are really nice but not that special either.

The place definitely tells a story.... While you are having a nice breakfast, or at least a coffee, you can enjoy this amazing building with so much history. A bunch of locals hanging out in there is always a good sign :)

Café in a most lovely and ancient setting – part of the old monastery. There are lofty ceilings with roof bosses matching those in the monastery itself, a stained glass window, and mirrored doors in the walls. Ancient uniformed retainers provide service which is generally good. It's obviously something of an arts centre as well. We had coffee and the... More

This is a nice cafe in an old church. The interior is beautiful. Prices are just a little bit higher than you would find in other cafes, but not over priced. There are not many choices if you are looking for sweets, but they have sandwiches, toasts and snacks. As this is one of those old cafes where staff have... More

The cafe has been in business since the 1920's but the building is over 500 years old! The chairs, interior, ceiling, and feeling is amazing. Sit outside or inside and you will be able feel the history of those that were sitting in the leather chairs and sending their dreams, wishes and prayers to God. I loved having coffee and... More

The building is the main asset of this place. This is an awesome site worth a visit. The food itself was good but nothing fancy.

Great central location, lovely building, wonderful evocative interior, friendly staff, so, recommended for a quality atmosphere. However, my two complaints are quite major: 1. the gents toilet (which opens directly into the main restaurant area) stunk and needed a good clean and freshen up. 2 quality of snack was poor (soggy, greasy partially cooked toasted sandwich) Why do so many... Tasty cakes and friendly staff, a nice place to enjoy your travel book and watch people and calm down, rest your feet and toast for life as a traveler. At night you may enjoy poetry, films even Fado in this national monument from 1921.
