The building is the main asset of this place. This is an awesome site worth a visit. The food itself was good but nothing fancy.

Great central location, lovely building, wonderful evocative interior, friendly staff, so, recommended for a quality atmosphere. However, my two complaints are quite major: 1. the gents toilet (which opens directly into the main restaurant area) stunk and needed a good clean and freshen up. 2 quality of snack was poor (soggy, greasy partially cooked toasted sandwich) Why do so many... Tasty cakes and friendly staff, a nice place to enjoy your travel book and watch people and calm down, rest your feet and toast for life as a traveler. At night you may enjoy poetry, films even Fado in this national monument from 1921.

We went there for a coffee and to see the internal decoration. It reminded other times, with black wooden furnitures, stained-glass windows and round tables from marble.Service was and price normal.

Excellent location and is probably fantastic place to chill out on the nice weather. Today is heavy rain and is only a good shelter from the rain. Everybody including waiters are sluggish. House White wine is just average and I tried a brown beer "super bock" Abadia. Liked it.

Stopped by for sandwiches but was impressed by the awesome service. It was 1500 hours so it was between meals so only sandwiches were available. I had a fine ham and cheese croissant. Great views and the beer was fine.

I went to the bar in the late afternoon for a glass of wine in the terrace next to the church. Good service, good wine and lovely atmosphere! Also the place makes you think about the city and the country's history.

This is a nice spot in the "lower" town of Coimbra, near the start of the climb up to the university. All the standard snack-type foods, but with an amazing interior, and a great patio for people watching on the square. There are lots of tourists loading up for the climb to the university, as well as locals going about... More

Beautiful cafe but they make a very mediocre cappuccino coffee which is a shame as it'd be a great setting to sit and chill in.

Located adjacent to Igreja de Santa Cruz, this neo-Manueline structure is a lovely café replete with a stunning vaulted stone interior. There is also outdoor seating available on a raised terrace overlooking Praca 8 de Maio. The cavernous interior is a cross between a church and an aristocrat's hunting lodge. The bar is tremendous displaying a multitude of pastries. There... More
