This place is very traditional in Coimbra. You should go there if you're visiting the city, you won't regret. You can have dinner and drink good wines while enjoying Fado, everynight. It's better to book a table.

It was Saturday night in winter. We come here because our hostel receptionist recommend us this place. Although we have to wait around 2 hours wandering around town to wait for the show, it was worth it. We really enjoy the show, the waiter is also friendly and nice to us. He speak English so fluently help us with the... More

So many beautiful places to go and great food to eat, but if you want to get the feel and vibe of Coimbra, you have to go to Bar Dilligencia to hear whoever is playing fado music that night. Josh, the owner and front man, and Patricia, the wife and cook, have a passion for hospitality, food, drink, and great... More

Had a really nice Fado evening, even though I unfortunately don't speak Portoguese ( I understand very little). The place is quite hidden from the main street, but definitely worth a visit for a drink and some music.

While Coimbra is full of historical and beautiful monuments, an evening in Diligencia is to experience a living, vibrant part of its culture. We were welcomed into this intimate space by the host, a warm and friendly man who spoke fluent English, and served cherry liquor in chocolate cups. A young man then poured out his soul, connecting with each... More

I am so grateful that I went to Diligencia! It is very small, extremely intimate and cozy, the owners are kind, attentive and treat the guests as if they were old friends visiting their home. The music is incomparable. During the performance, which lasted from 10:00 until 2:00, 10 people were clustered around Luis (who sings and plays like nothing... More

My wife and I were touring Portugal and stumbled upon this place in Coimbra. We enjoyed Fado played/sand by a great performer and also enjoyed a bottle of wine. It was fantastic. The proprietor, George, was very friendly and spoke impeccable English, making communication easy (sadly, we don't speak Portuguese). His wife, who runs the place with him, was also... More

Fado for locals. The native music of Portugal, with which guitarist and singers thrill the audience. It is great to see how the audience keeps silent, hears, feels, and hums the chorus ... Highly recommended!

This is where to go to avoid the tourist orientated Fado. Its a little bar with odd decoration, it felt like sitting inside a giraffe - if you visit you will see what I mean. They do basic food, its cheap and tasty, and goes very well with a couple of bottles of vihno verde. The singer didnt arrive until... More
