Had tea here in October. No reservations allowed, so we got there promptly, and the restaurant filled up very quickly with locals and tourists. Stunning simple and delicious food, well priced, and good wines to accompany it. Sea food is very fresh. Excellent desserts too.

An excellent evening. From the outside the O Carloto looks like a small restaurant. Once you walk inside you're greeted by friendly staff and the smell of great food. We had traditional Portuguese food and it was fantastic. The atmosphere was quite loud, relaxed and...happy, people enjoying their evening's. Excellent service and value for money. We will be back and definitely recommend it.More

We ate there nearly everyday since our first meal during our whole stay near Cascais! This never happened to us before! We are a family with 2 kids. We parents both are quite demanding in terms of food and restaurant. O Carloto won our stomachs...by its simple but so delicious food, and won our heart by the very nice patron, his super chef mum and all the friendly staff! We tried most of the dishes on the menu, never disappointed, just nice surprises. I ate clams everyday! And my husband took grilled pulpe several times. I rarely eat pork, but their ribs were so good that I ate quite a lot from the plate of my son! Then came their mouth watering deserts. Normally I only like chocolate as desert and am quite picky about it. Their chocolate cake was just amazing! One of the best I’ve ever had. We liked almost all of their deserts, it was just too painful for us to have to give up some every time!More

Food and service of very good standard at a competitive price. Only recommendation is for some noise isolation (cork roof?) as it becomes quite noisy when full.

Been there with some friends following the nice reviews we found here. It was a bit too noise for what we like...

Decided to have a local meal tonight and based on reviews this place fit the bill . The place had family locals and some tourists. the waiters spoke english well and service was freindly and professional They had menus in english The portions were large...and very good the octopus was very tender . We had a very nice white for 12.50 euro for the bottle would definitely reccomend for a very good moderately priced meal near the beach in cascaisMore

Unpretentious family run restaurant. Bruno smiles and runs it on that smile. Great value , modest food, large Portuguese menu. Eat solo or two or 16 and it’s still the same place. Open plan kitchen. No hidden frills. Paper table clothes. Vast rack of ribs...if you like your pork ! Great home made desserts Highly recommend if you accept it for what it’s worth, a friendly well run family restaurant in a far changing to close to Cascais world. Book maybe if at weekend. It’s local liked and popular.More

During our stay in Cascais we went to O Carloto and liked so much the food, the service and the ambience that we repeated, twice!. They don't have an extended menu. Which is not necesarilly bad. They serve fresh, good, home-made, Portuguese food. Really really...recomended. One of the few restaurants in this coast area, out of the center of Cascais, not for tourists but locals. Also top cleansiness.More
