Located a few yards from our hotel this gem was brilliant for a good tasty and filling supper after a hard days sightseeing. Simple unpretentious food in a fine old style setting with good friendly and efficient staff. A really good find.

Few dinner options but the roasted chicken with piri piri is very tasty and with very good salad. Also they had very good wines with a large selection and great service. Local place close to center but on a street further from noise. Overall would recommend the place for a simple but tasty dinner in Lisbon.

Every time I am in Lisbon I have a meal here. It is the highlight to have their Chicken Piri-Piri with Fries and salad. Its only the best there is. Great and quick service and great food.

I love Nandos! Naturally I wanted piri piri now we are in Lisbon... This restaurant was first we read about. Literally 1 minute from our hotel (Altis Avenues). The Chicken is cooked so well, salty and crispy! The piri piri sauce is rough and biting, but you put it on yourself, and it works so well!! Politely refuse the bread... More

We found it a little chilly on the 2 November nights we ate here, so we went into the upstairs rooms, where there are no smokers. It was a nice place to eat. The staff are very helpful, respectful and are also good fun. Most people here have heard about the roast chicken and it is special, so I have... More

The roast chicken dinner was recommended to us by our hotel in Madrid ! It did not disappoint ! The outside tables were full, so they brought out another one for us ! Chicken was exceptional, esp considering the price ! We added a green salad, which was fresh, bib lettuce, onions, and tomatoes ! Vino verde to top it... More

We visited Lisbon for 5 days and had seen Bonjardim as a local recommendation online - well, it was SO good we returned 3 times during our stay. The 1/2 grilled chicken with fries is delicious - as well as the cheese and bread served before the meal. The service was excellent ... in fact, the waiter recognized us that... More

We went here for lunch and this place was very good. Simple menu with most people ordering the grilled chicken. I don't think I've had chicken cooked this well before! The chicken was crispy, meaty, salty and really flavourful. Best I've had so far! Would visit again as it was just good non nonsense food.

Thank onesunnyday15

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
