After 2 years of living in Portugal, finally an experience that reminds me of my country, flavor and finesse, crisp and refreshing tastes, top local ingredients and dishes that represent their look on what is fine dining. Everything is taken care of, as a restaurant...worker myself I was stunned to finally have a star worthy experience regarding food & service, not that I don't like typical Portuguese food, but this is more with a touch of the french cuisine style, narrowed down to absolute perfection when it comes down to delivering a perfect menu & service. Not even a single to discuss, cuisson & flavors were simply perfect. And that's not all, there is only 1 table with 10 places, forcing you to interact with other guests which creates a warm feeling and adds to the experience. After being disappointed for quite a while here, not finding the quality i was used to in Belgium where we have French cuisine fine dining traditions, LOCAL absolutely topped my chart in my continuing Portugese adventure, I will definatly come back. -Niels GoossensMore

A tiny boutique restaurant which we were lucky to book in it's entirety for our party of 11. They took great care of us, and even rustled up some vegan options at very late notice ! Food, all 5 courses, was delicious, well presented and...as we shared the kitchen with the table (sort of) it added to the experience. The only small query I would raise, is that it got quite hot, as it was raining heavily and we therefore had to leave the door shut most of the time. And whilst not "Eye watering" it was a pricey meal. Then again, we didn;t hold back on the wine !! Would definitely go back.More

I visited Local during a recent trip to Portugal and was extremely pleased. The service was fantastic! The food was fantastic! The other guests were interesting and friendly! I definitely recommend.

The concept is different, you book seats on the one and only table, there is basically only one menu (exceptions for allergies, vegetarians, …). You come, because you want to spend a nice evening (19-21h or as of 21h), get to know interesting people (mainly...international guests). The work is done by 2 Chefs taking care of the service and entertainment as well. There is a history for every dish, some were new interpretation of local childhood memories. The kitchen is very small, the sous-vide helps a lot to get meat but also on fish dishes all cooked at the same time and with little preparation during the service. We liked the food, good fresh local ingredients. The house does not use a lot of luxury products but basic product very well prepared. This allows still reasonable pricing (I remember around 50€ p.p. + drinks) We liked the concept, we had great people around the table, good food – this is more than we expected. Amazing experience with a personal touch. Go here if nowhere else in Lisbon. The restaurant is small, has great chefs and the food is some of the beat I’ve had. They catered to our picky needs (one vegetarian and one pescatarian) with no hassle even...though it’s a tiny restaurant with only ten seats, and created stunning food. The pumpkin dish (in place of the veal) was of the best dishes I’ve eaten. Thank you!More
