5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 days ago NEW via mobile

Me and my boyfriend visited Uma back in December 2016. First night we tried to go, there was a huge queue outside so we tried again the second night. We arrived 20 mins before doors opened. We must have been about the 5 couple/customer. Soon as the doors opened we all filed in and filled up the available seats. Within... More

Everybody recommended this restaurant. By the good and excellent opinions it seems that the food is good (the rice to be specific). Nevertheless, we tried twice to find a table (for lunch and for dinner) and the results were the same. Long waiting, rude customer service and denied to service with no good explanation. We And several clients left very... More

Well, the famous and decanted risotto is not for guinness!! Considering , long waiting list, narrow spaces but , absolute lack of courtesy, the place cannot be fully recommended but , with time and little more .. endurance , why not to try. All in all good for price!!

Out of all the restaurants I tried in Lisbon, this is the most memorable one. Uma has the best shell fish rice in town, period. The rice came in a large metal pot with rice integrated. The shell fish rice was thick, flavorful, and loaded with seafood: shrimp, langoustine, stone crab, fish, etc. I thought it was tomato based but... More

Went there at 6.45pm on the first day and didn't get a place so we went there again at 6.30 to queue and got a place at 7pm. The price of 10 euros per person for the seafood rice was fair provided there were quite a lot of prawns and crabs etc. However the rice is not surprising at all... More

It's a challenge to get in to say the least. We have queued twice, and finally got a table at third attempt. I would recommend to go there half hour before opening! Once you are in then it's very straight forward, the menu is simple and, only one dish is available for dinner: the seafood rice dish served in a... More

The food was delicious and worth it! Same as the other reviews regarding the limited space and the wait but it is worth it. The seafood with rice was great!!! It was a great stop to our exploring and the soup was excellent. Very inexpensive for how delicious it was.

This is a popular restaurant for seafood with rice. The place is small so there will be a wait for seat and food. Only order seafood with rice on the food menu and nothing else.

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
