We were looking forward to dining at O Paco on our last night in Lisbon. What a disaster. Food was of good quality but the portions are too tiny. We ordered the fish soup as a starter and that was ok. Then we ordered 1 grilled salmon and 3 grilled octopus. The grilled salmon was a normal size portion but... More

Paco is the one restaurant I go back to every time I am in Lisbon. Every time I sit in its large room, I know what I will get: fresh fish, grilled or fried, straight from the market of that morning, cooked to perfection. No frills, no special sauces, no chef's special menu, just simple straightforward fish. That is the... More

I'm visiting "O Paco" since more than 25 years anytime when i'm in Lisbon which means at least once the year. Their food and drinks has never been disappointing. A huge choice of local dishes with fresh ingredients makes this place unique. You can find rare seafood (Percebes, etc.) only fresh. What is out is out! Even the service staff... More

Portugal is known for specializing in well prepared seafood. But, we were surprised that while the seafood was always very fresh it wasn't always cooked properly...overdone. O Paco located across from the amazing Gulbenkian Museum is doing it right! My husband and I both enjoyed our meals. The Pulpo (Octopus) was tender and grilled to perfection. We also enjoyed the... This place was one of two restaurants recommended by our hotel. We arrived in late and didnt want to travel far for something to eat.The alarm bells should have sounded straight away.As we were taking our seats, the couple at the only other occupied table were complaining about the bill.We were aware of the usual bread and olives being brought to the... About 100 yards from Fundacao Calouste Gulbekian, on the opposite side of Avenida Berna, you’ll find this unpretentious fish restaurant. Good food and house wine at ridiculously low prices. It’s not obvious from the menu, which is only in Portuguese (the waiters do speak English), but the daily specials include French fries and salad.

This no frills bistro lies bang opposite the Gulbenkian Museum in an area rather bereft of eating places. It serves ample, hearty, budget meals and there is, surprisingly, quite a choice. Swift service. A real find if you don't want to push out the boat. Excellent value for money.

A great place if you are staying in one of the nearby hotels, or visiting the Gulbenkian, and want to enjoy reasonably priced seafood in a traditional setting.

Nice atmosphere in this local restaurant with no pretention to be more more than it is: local seafood and some extra delicacies like a final touch's local schnaps on the patron.
