My daughter picked Enoteca for lunch on our day trip to Belem. She made a great selection. It is located down a quiet alley not far from Pasteis de Belem. We had a late lunch after visiting the carriage museum. We started with a soup and each of the four of us had different entrees and shared two desserts. All... More

The best restaurant on my week end in Lisboa so far. Value price ratio is quite high. Quite a small place with room for about 15 p maximum. Octopus is EXCELLENT!!

This small place hidden in a small travessa is worth visiting. The food is just delicious, although portions are relatively small, and the choice of wines is great. We had a great evening in a group of friends.

A gorgeous dinner! The presentation, the creativity, the balance, the shear deliciousness...all top flight. And the wines. Since we don't really know Portuguese wines, we asked our waiter to pair the best wine selection with each of our food selections and all were fantastic. For example, we had a shaved scallop dish with cod roe and "coral", an incredibly complex... More

This is a lovely comfortable small restaurant tucked down a side street. Design is tasteful with the wine list on display in the wine racks! We were warmly welcomed by the maître d' who guided us through the menu and wine list and suggested the wines to accompany our meal. Both the food (3 courses) and the accompanying wines proved... This really is a gem. The food is excellent and getting to sample the wine before choosing is a bonus. The atmosphere is cosy and the service is very personal and efficient.

The restaurant is small (about 20 covers) and situated in a side street, close to Pasteis de Belem. We visited at lunch and tried 3 different main courses, all of which were delicious. The grouper with a clam broth was the stand out dish. We had a pudding between us and this was also excellent. They serve a wide selection... More

Despite the disparaging remarks by some reviewers, this is not a pretentious restaurant but a welcoming venue that presents local wines and food well. We dined in June this year. One of the benefits of TA is the foreknowledge of any interesting differences in a restaurant, thus one is not surprised but prepared to experience the cultural feature and enjoy.... More

Just off the beaten path in a small alley you will find this unpretentious little restaurant. The food is outstanding, the wines are excellent and the staff are most attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend this to anyone who appreciates good food away from the tourist crowds.

Thank Mireille B

Staying in Belem

Neighbourhood Profile
Belém is the "capital of the Portuguese Discoveries" and a photographer's paradise. You can spend an entire day exploring this neighborhood: monuments (Jerónimos Monastery, Belém Tower, Monument to the Discoveries), museums (Coach Museum, Centro Cultural de Belém) and breathtaking views of the Tagus river will make your visit worth your time. Belém also offers a variety of restaurants and cafes, namely the famous - and delicious - "Pastéis de Belém" (typical Portuguese custard tarts; make sure you buy an extra box of those!). Easily accessible from Lisbon's historic center, Belém is a must-do, especially if you're spending more than one day visiting the Portuguese capital.
