If you're interested in being berated and verbally abused by the front of the house person (think he might be the owner) then this is your spot, but otherwise I'd recommend avoiding this place at all costs. Your time and money will be much better...More

Whilst the menu isn't the most logical thing going around, the food you get is excellent. The main part about this place is the wine though. Hit up the sommelier for some advice and he will gladly step you through some of portugal's best. Wine...More

Food good, wine amazing and staff fantastic. Really helped us choosing a bottle of wine that we would enjoy. The staff couldn't do more for you. Live music was also good. Definitely recommend going here if you want a cheap meal with drinks, in a...More

The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The wine by the glass list is very extensive. However beware they bring very expensive wines for you to try and add them to your bill.

It seemed like there was only one waiter who knew about the wine so we had to wait about 30 minutes after sitting down before he came over to recommend something, and we didn't get the wine until a long time after we'd already got...More

We came across Grapes and Bites by accident while wandering around Lisbon looking for somewhere to get a drink and some small tapas style food - well, we found one. This is quite a small place, and was busy every time we walked past, but...More

Delicious food and wine, friendly and knowledgeable staff, great atmosphere! A bit more expensive than most restaurants nearby but definitely worth it!! Three of us went and we sat next to the window. Probably worth booking ahead too - we did this very easily by...More

Located in the heart of Lisbon, in a mandatory visit neighborhood as the Bairro Alto, just a few meters away from Chiado, you find in this Wine House a committed team in a relaxed, family atmosphere, accompanied by live music that animates every night. Between the passion for wines of Antonio Baeta and the passion for cuisine of Silvia Mendes, we get the alchemical mixture of two key ingredients that make the success of this house. On the one hand, more than 1000 national references between white, red, green, sparkling and fortified wine, where the vast majority can be tasted by glass, or even taken home bottled, on the other hand, a continuous search for the best Portuguese delicacies turned into simple dishes, but with great flavor, from cheese and sausages boards with homemade jams, to mussels or scallops gratinated, seared canned tuna, or even cod or octopus in the oven. Upstairs this XVIII century building, fully redone, you can find a room for the night in a cozy environment. Six bedrooms, some with private bathroom, a mixed dormitory, a common living room, a common kitchen where breakfasts are served or where you can cook your own food and an outdoor patio, make of this Hostel a selected place for those who like to enjoy the night of Bairro Alto, and want to stick around. Enjoy every moment of the two spaces in a relaxed way and with quality. Wine House Open every day from 12h00 to 24h00.
