Excellent atmosphere in a really small place! The food is really good, the fish is just... WOW!!! We highly recommend you to have lunch over there. You will probably queue to get a table, but it's worth it!!!

Not fancy, not very space, super crowded but genuine portuguese food and service. Eat cheap, get a big meal and start the night happy around Mouraria.

This place was recommended by a local, didn't disappoint! We could understand the menu so the German family next to us helped us...salmon and chicken dishes were great. Sangria topped it off. Great find. 3 meals, liter of sangri, 2 cokes for €23

My boyfriend and I were looking for somewhere to eat on our first night in Lisbon. This restaurant was nearby and we chose to dine here from positive reviews. We found the restaurant lacking in atmosphere - it felt more like a takeaway from the lighting to the hard chairs to the paper tablecloth to the fact that you have... More

We went here bcs of the suggestions of the owners of our flat - they strongly recommended it! It's a super tiny restaurant, where locals often have dinner. Everything is super tasty, except the desserts - it doesn't worth a try. Fantastic atmosphere of Portuguese family dinner (it's not a place to have a quiet calm end-of-the-day meal) with a... More

This Taska is where I always go at least once when in Lisbon... food is excellent (I usually have prawns which I share) - service is great - atmosphere wonderful... But mainly I go for the food - fish, salad, chips all perfect. This Taska is very reasonable too - the other day my friend & I had bread, olives,... More

It was a awesome evening. We were a group of 13 young people. We ordered Gambas, Dorade and the very tasteful house white wine. It took some time until everyone get his food. But that was normal because we were a bigger group and they only have a small kitchen. You get for 15€ a wonderful evening in great atmosphere... More

No fake, no tourist offer, just propoer, tasty meat, with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. Low prices, great offer. Off the main touristic routes. The one you'd expect!

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
