Good place to have breakfast at fair value. And right next to the city center! Many good options, from both the bakery part and the cafe part. Like the aesthetically pleasing coffee cups =)

It was my second time there. We were there around 11 o'clock, and it was pretty full. We ordered eggs royal and a tartine with aubergine and goat cheese. Both dishes tasted fantastic. The stuff is young and speaks english. Try it out!

We had very pleasant, unhurried breakfast at Tartine on our first day in Lisbon. We sat upstairs and my husband compared it to sitting in an Apple Store (this was a compliment) - very modern, streamlined and neat. The staff were efficient, and the food was tasty and good value. The fresh breads were wonderful, the scrambled eggs perfect and... More

We had a very good breakfast here, good bread, eggs, coffee and orange juice. The service is ok, even if slightly below Lisbon average. Overall =7,5/10

Latte was just okay, didn't seem strong enough. I had avocado toast with a poached egg and tomatoes. Very fresh tomato but avocado was not as good. Might just be because I'm used to different avocados in the US. atmosphere was great! Great service, easy to find. We went at 11 in April and there were plenty of seats.

Have been before but this experience was rather lacking in something. Had poached eggs but toast was overdone and no butter was provided. Also had to get my own salt and pepper. May have been a new waitress? It is a nice place and staff are friendly but needs better service to ensure the customer has what they want, and... More

Would recommend the pastries, the salmon tartine and the eggs benedict. If you are going on a weekend, get there as close to opening time as possible to avoid a wait.

We popped in for a brunch before starting our day of sightseeing. This place is just off the Main Street and did not disappoint! We ordered an eggs Benedict and one of their Tartines - hummus, peppers and mozzarella! The portions were good and set us up for the day - the juice of the day was great and very... More

Staying in Chiado & Carmo

Neighbourhood Profile
Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally, "squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used to. You can also enjoy breathtaking views of Lisbon from the Elevador de Santa Justa or the Carmo Convent, for example. A commercial neighborhood at its core, especially for its Garrett and Carmo streets, Chiado is to this day a mandatory visit in Lisbon.
