This place came up in a couple of online guides so I thought it would be a good and central place to start our day before we got our bearings. The food was completely bland and tasteless, the experience ruined even more by the constant harassment of drug dealers, beggars, sellers.i know it's not the waiters fault but who wants to... More

Sat down for lunch and a beer and were completely ignored for the first 10 minutes despite trying to catch the eye of several waiters who were determined to avoid eye contact. Finally managed to order a beer and ask for a menu. Beer arrived eventually, receipt was slammed on the table, we asked to order food and were refused... More

Don't go there. We didn't get any service and when we tried to order at the register the staff got angry. When we finally got our food we had to buy more at another place to get full. Please stay away from this place.

After an amazing time in lisboa, we decided with my family to have a last sunny lunch before catching our plane. We had the worst experience in this restaurant. We waited over 45 minutes before asking to the waiter if it was possible to order. He simply ignored us and we had to go somewhere else to eat. I recommand... More

You can choose for indoor or outdoor seating. The latter is a bit more expensive because a waiter serves you. Inside, they have a great selection of pastries at a cheap cost. You have to pay first then show the attendants your order for you to be served. Fast no non-sense pastelaria. Also, you need to show your receipt to... More

Stopped here for a quick coffee, orange juice and pastel de nata on our first day in Lisbon - a mid-morning snack. Coffee and pastel de nata were good, but nothing special to write home about. Location in Baixa is good. You'll probably be bothered by a few people begging for money or selling sunglasses, but a firm no was... More

I had a great experience at the Pasteleria Suica, great for people watching and street tricks. The espresso was excellent, I really enjoyed sitting there and just relaxed.

Asked for a tonic port, that should be with white port and.. it came with red port.. ridiculus.. price also ridiculus, 10 euros each, not a good value for money! the location can not be a justification for the exagerated prices!

Huge 'pastelaria' in a central location (it has several doors on two main squares in the historic quarter). Had coffee and the typical 'pastel de nata.' It was alright. Remember you have to prepay before ordering inside.

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
