We were staying in Sintra a four nights and visited this restaurant on the last night, early November. Only another couple in. Nice restaurant, very traditional and the waiter was friendly even though he didn't speak a lot of English. Wine, bread, cheese and meat very nice but ordered the fish and was disappointed, very dry and lots and lots... More

finnaly found the place without tourists (peak of August season at Sintra). Reasoneably priced, familly run place. Lacals are used to gather there. Excellent home made traditional desserts.

Went on a quiet mid-week night, had to wait several minutes before the lone waiter looked up from slicing a melon to acknowledge us, then waited another 5 minutes at a table with no attention whatsoever, before walking out !

Excellent food. Almost impossible to find on your own without the help of TripAdvisor and some maps app. The service was great and the food -we had fish- was incredible. Would definitely go back.

O Tunel is located on the other side of the railway tracks from the busier parts of Sintra, but it can be easily accessed by a gently sloping pedestrian overpass (if you do not want to circumnavigate the station to get to it). The prices in the menu are reasonable, mostly in the range of €9.50–14. The sangria is also... More

The food was delicious, we ate there three times and every time everything was great. The house wine was great and a very good price. The staff super friendly, great family restaurant. We enjoyed our dinners every time

This place is close to the railway station which would make one think it is a busy place. Thankfully, this was not the case. A few people, simple but clean interior, long room (hence the name). The food was well done and tasty, prices nicely affordable, especially compared to the old centre of Sintra. What we most liked about the... More

If you are near the train station, this is good option for some decent, low cost food. We just has 2 omelletes with fries and salad half litre of wine, olives and a water for 18 euros. Food wont win any awards but it was tasty and filling. The waitress was very welcoming and spoke english.

O Tunel (by the railway tunnel) used to be the last resort. It was pretty rough and so was the menu, but it was good basic Portuguese stuff with things that are now ridiculously outlawed. So it's had to adapt to the rules, and over the years has become a little more dainty and fastidious at the cost of becoming... More
