The food here is out of this world and surprisingly not expensive! For the same price as the touristy restaurants in town you get some simply delicious foods. Try the duck risotto if you can - perfectly balanced. And $4 local wine...yes please.

My husband and I had the most amazing lunch here at Raposa in Sintra. Sergio greeted us at the door for a late lunch. We asked him to prepare lunch of his choosing. We started off with fresh salmon appetizer, then cod fish with black and green olives with onion sauteed and break potato, next we moved on to Iberian... More

Our innkeeper recommended this place and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. It was a quiet evening, and we had some difficulty finding the place (GPS not so helpful) after walking from our hotel. But once we were there, nothing could have been better. They accommodated couples like us, but also a couple with a young child (who was well behaved).... More

You must stop at Raposa restaurant. This was the most amazing experience I've ever had in Europe. The staff were so kind and incredible. They made our night one of the most special nights in my whole European trip. Traveled to Europe from Canada for a month and no place compared to the experience we received here. I will make... We went for lunch, the place was empty, but fortunately the owner greeted us and recomended amazing food. We tried the black sausage, and the black rissotto, they were fantastic. Then the owner recomended a exquisite portugese red wine Azamor - petit verdot. A lovely lady named Graziela brought us our wine and food. She was delightful, and told us... More

The soft jazz coming from the restaurant lured us closer. At first we thought it was closed, but then noticed a bell on the wall. We were welcomed by the kind owner and felt like royalty as we were the only diners that evening. Delicious food from the starter to the dessert and given a glass of wine after settling... More

Well, the door bell played a Christmas Carol (way too early in October) and the owner stood me outside "ring the bell when you're ready to come in..." The dining room is big and airy, tastefully decorated and stylish. The food was well-presented though I did get less attention when two Americans came in. I guess the owner reckoned Americans... A wonderful duck risotto and delicious appetisers made for a great meal. Flavours were tasty and surprising so well worth experimenting. Hostess did not speak much English. The best meal we had in Sintra.

A nice classy restaurant in Sintra. Although many tourists, it does not have the touristy feel. As others have noted, you are greeted by the owner who also served us (does not speak English well but easy to communicate with). The food was very good. For my main, I had pork cheeks which had a very robust, complex flavor. The... More
