We were told to take a seat (by 2 different servers) and then studiously ignored by 4 employees, including the 2, for 15 minutes. Unbelievable.More

I think I responded to you in Google as well. May 28 was one of the busiest days of the month of May 2018. It was overwhelming for our staff and very confusing. Our staff is very conscientious of providing good and respectful service. It...More

This place is a very touristic place with touristic prices. The food is ok but nothing special. Waiters and waitresses speak well English and are very service orientated.More

Our stay in their guesthouse we got breakfast served in here. After a few miscommunications we got the right food. The coffee splendid, the waiters helpful. To drop by for a apple pie or other dishes is recommended, coz the food looked delicious around us.

Cafe Saudade evokes the style of gracious tea and coffee houses of the late 1800s, with its elaborate ceiling decorations and paintings. It has lovely fresh snacks, and a full range of ways to serve coffee. The homemade scones are superb, and enough for two....More

We had a brunch at this place and staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was very good and tasty. We were a group of 8 people (4 couples) and they did not hav a table of 8 but they offered a place inside.

Cute café right near the Sintra train station that can seat large parties. The menu is extensive, reasonable and very tasty. We tried the chocolate carrot cake (not too sweet), the grilled panini ham and cheese and the ham and cheese in a traditional roll.

This place was recommended to us by a friend and we were very happy to pop in there to get away from the cold and windy weather we encountered after leaving sunny and warm Lisbon earlier. An original layout with 2 or 3 different rooms....More

Lovely place. We came here for lunch and had the paninis with bolo do caco, which were delicious! Their house lemonade was also very good. Service was nice, considering they were very busy.

Where Cafe Saudade now stands, there used to be housed the historical Queijadas da Mathilde cheesecake factory from 1888 to 1974.These queijadas de Sintra (cheesecakes) were a favorite of King Ferdinand II (who restored the Pena Palace). During the 3rd quarter of the 19th century, the king gave the factory founder a stamp marked Mathilde, to brand the cheesecakes bound for the royal family. The Cafe Saudade was restored and preserved over a year long renovation in 2008 and opened in the summer of 2009. Recycled and regional materials and resources were used to create an environment that authentic. We pride ourselves for this and and for the fact that our team offers the best service they can.The spaces of the old cheesecake factory are today a cultural reference in Sintra's recent historical background. Its preservation allows us a glimpse into the ancient manufacturing process of the typical queijada de Sintra.Wander through the "Saudade Labyrinth" and fall in love with Sintra. Visit our Art Gallery and explore the various rooms with pieces of furniture that we restored with love and care, and in which we have handcrafts for sale. We host literary gatherings, jazz and fado concerts, and other cultural activities.
