Had to come back here as we were so impressed 2 years ago when we came. Very reasonable in central Funchal. Highly recommended.

Rua da Carreira is one of the historically famous streets of Funchal, a place, where once horse-races took place, thus the name 'Carreira'. Today it is a street with many restaurants, especially in its pedestrianised middle part. In front of most eating places will be a waiter or waitress soliciting the passers-by. One spot, where this was not the case,... More

We visited 3 times and enjoyed the 9 euro menu. The soups and bread was tasty, as was the traditional scabbard and banana. The stroganoff should be avoided as it was tough and tasteless. The chocolate mousse was the best dessert option. We loved the courtyard garden with its dappled shade and the friendly waiters.

We ate here opting for the tourist menu - the soup was bland with no seasoning at all, the chicken kebab was so overcooked and dry and coffee horrible!

This restaurant looks nothing special from the road but it has a lovely garden that you can eat in at the back.Staff are lovely and the food is basic but good. Good value too.

We love going there for local food like espada with passionfruit/maracuja or espetada regional. Price and quality are fair and the atmosphere of the back garden let you forget that you are sitting in the center of Funchal.

Our first intention was a quiet beer in the garden and ended up staying a couple of hours and had food also. Big menu so we returned same evening, very busy but did not change its excellent service ethos and good food. A very popular place deserves a visit any time of day.

A nice garden restaurant in Funchal capital of the beautiful island of Madeira. The food is excellent, Highly recommend the Espada a local fish, which is only available in Madeira. The ambience is very nice and Relaxing.

i read the reviews after eating here. All I can say is they must have a new chef. we had steaks and a set menu. The peppered steak was delicious. the set menu was really good value.
