We arrived in Madeira about 8pm which was a bit late eating for us therefore stopped at the first restaurant we, while looking at main courses outside main the waiter pointed to the Tourist Menu which gave you a three course mail for the price of a mains, foolishly we went for that. It was the 23rd December, therefore everyone... More

Our first night in Madeira and this restaurant was close to our hotel which is the reason we chose it and were not disappointed. We sat outside with a lovely view, were offered a glass of Madeira wine on arrival and we all had the tourist menu at EUR11.90 per person - great value and great food. No complaints at... More

I'm mad about Portuguese steak, and although the Madeiran way is a little different, there is no question that the island's quality of beef is equally as good. This is a nice restaurant, attentive but not intrusive service, and very good value by the local standards of price.

This restaurant serves the typical type of food served in many of the holiday spots in Madeira so it is nothing out of the ordinary. Decoration is basic and the staff while pleasant and helpful can at times be a little over familiar with customers. We were each given a complementary glass of Madeiran wine on arrival, sad to say... This restaurant is really nice and the staff are friendly and polite. As we entered we were given a glass of Madeiran wine. The food was lovely and well presented. We had no complaints at all.

Ate here twice because my husband loved the steak. However I ordered the vegetable risotto which was so bland I felt ill. It was boiled rice with added cream then boiled tasteless vegetables chucked in. The vegetables was potatoes, carrots and onion!!

We visited tonight and the worst restaurant in Funchal. We sat in a corner and moved because of the flies and wasps. The staff scruffy, the service poor and the food awful. We had the pasta but it was so bland following some garlic bread which was unpleasant. The best part of the restaurant was leaving the front door.

This is not as 'pretty' as some of the restaurants we ate in but was welcomed with a glass of madeira wine on arrival. Seating basic but comfortable. Fish soup was very good, although a little on the salty side. I had the mixed fish grill, trust me, only order this if you have the appetite of 3 men -... More

Don't usually like being accosted by restaurant workers on the street but we took a chance. We tried the 11.50€ tourist menu and were so pleased that the quality of the food wasn't diminished because of the price. We had a lovely table outside and the best sea view too. A definite return. Thanks.
