The entrance on the avenue side does not pay for a mine (compared to the entrance on the pedestrian side) but do not let yourself be fooled: here we serve good quality dishes, in good mood. We were looking for somewhere where we could watch England v N Macedonia ( sad I know). A local man helped us and suggested Baliza. What a fabulous find. This was very much a local restaurant and they knew we wanted to watch the footie and had set our table up in front of the tv and had the channel ready.
The food was superb. Best chicken all holiday. Service was great and they listened to our poor Portuguese before replying in great English. If you want a genuine Portuguese experience with great food this is a must!

We were brought here with friends from Espinho - what a great place! While the outside may not look like much, we had wonderful wholesome food at great prices. We went multiple times during our time in Espinho and would happily return.

Most horrible food in a long long time.
The French fries only saw the hot oil from a distance. The intife meal was ready in 6 minutes. In and out in 16 minutes.The meat was swimming in a half burned garlic sauce.

Seven us of were in Espinho for a golfing holiday. We went here on the first evening and were so impressed we never felt the need to try a different restaurant. The grilled chicken and meat dishes we tried were excellent, as was the prawn and fish stew. The staff were attentive and both food and wine were reasonably priced. Particular stand-outs were the Angolan chicken, the pan-sautéed pork and the assorted mixed meat. All these dishes were delicious and good for sharing - indeed the portions here are so large that seven decent appetites could be sated with four or five dishes plus salad. Great for groups of friends or families. Over four nights, I am fairly sure we were the only non-Portuguese in the place. As an aside, they do a roaring grilled meat takeaway business.

Went here on the look out for a nice local restaurant. Went in, very clean and COVID friendly. Staff were excellent as was the food. They do takeaway too.

Yes this restaurant is popular but the standard of food is poor. Lots of much better restaurants in Espinho. Try Espinho 10 along the promenade.

I never go to Espinho without eating at this restaurant. I go there with my family once a year if I’m in Portugal and the manager (maybe the owner, I’m not sure) always recognizes us and welcomes us with thanks for coming in. It’s a family style restaurant that doesn’t look like anything special, BUT you get a great Portuguese meal at the beach for an affordable price.

A family with two kids aged 7y and 10y. Service was fast and nice, even the stuff didn't speak very good english. We had two fish meals, shared with three persons (waiter suggested sharing) and one meat dish (was suggested sharing also). Dishes were great! Our son 7y sais that you shouln't go there unless you are very hungry. Doughter 10y thinks that 'portugese chips' was very good.

I enjoyed eating dinner in Restaurant Baliza. The service is tip-top! The waiters were very busy but still had a smile on their faces and were happy to serve us.
The food was super good and the portions very very generous. None of us could finish our dishes so we could easily have shared a couple of dishes instead of ordering one each.
The atmosphere was lively. The low ceiling made the noise level high which was fine with me, but if you want to eat dinner in a quiet spot this is not the place.

Recommended to book a table there!
Excellent service and we felt very special as they cared for us as customers.
Make sure you are hungry when you go there - portions are very nice and larger than the restaurants by the seafront.
We tried the seafood spaghetti and there was enough for 2 persons.
Restaurant was nicely packed but at no given time did we feel forgotten!
Even when we wanted to to buy a bottle of water for the hotel room, we were given a bottle for free.
Definately a must try!

This is a place that the locals go to. It is slightly away from the beach, so not on main tourist road.
The food is not fancy, but it was tasty and reasonably priced.
