Greeted with a very friendly smile and a glass of fizz!
From the moment we walked in it was an amazing experience.
Very knowledgeable and not pushy.
Talked us thru the menu and wine list
Left us alone to choose with no pressure.
Food
Plenty and freshly cooked, great flavours.
OMG! You must try the ice cream!
We have traveled and eaten in many restaurants around the world, this is on our top 3 for service, location and food.
Wine both local and international, reasonable prices.
Tables nicely spaced out considering it’s a very small restaurant, 22 covers.
Will come back again when in the area.

Very small place but the quality of the restaurant is very great. Exquisite dishes, we had dinner 2 nights with several dishes to share so I can judge a good part of the menu.
The staff's attention is also excellent. Many details, for example they gave us a plate of ham for waiting, when the wait was very short compared to most places

A small but very welcoming place for small groups and family outings. We started by liking the coubert: the olive tapenade, perfect in its acidity, shone in contrast to the honey bread that accompanied it. The main dishes followed: the ragu of black pork cheeks, which fell apart in your mouth as tender as they were. Very well flavored with a purple potato puree on the side and very well. The prawn rice with the sea bass fillet, which took us to the sea just a few meters away. Everything excellent. Thanks for the experience!

From the start with the welcome glass of bubbly to the delicious breads, tuna, tapenade and garlic butter covers we knew we were on a winner. The main courses did not disappoint with melt in the mouth steak, pork ragu and delicious chicken. Gorgeous chocolate dessert followed by complimentary port left us very impressed with our experience. Service was excellent and would definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone visiting Espinho.

We have eaten at quite a few restaurants across Portugal, but the experience we had at Casta surpassed all the rest.
This quaint place offered excellent wine, and the food went beyond our expectations. The pork cheek was soft and succulent, and the gravy it comes in was absolutely delicious. It had just the right amount of salt and I did not find myself needing to ask for "salt please".
My hubby had the salmon which is braised to perfection with a crispy outer and a soft delicious, moist inner. The rustic potatoes were definitely a very good accompaniment.
Espinho is a town that at first sight seems like nothing is going on. When you dig a little deeper, you find quite a few treasures hidden in the town's streets.
Casta is one of them.

Absolutely great spot for lunch and dinner. After our first visit we had to come back next day to try different things from the menu, totally worth it. Eggs with potatos and ham are to die for, pork cheeks and sauce - WOW! We had cod cakes, prawn tempura, steak with rosemary butter and chicken with rice aswell and they were all nicely seasoned. Service is great, there is no menu in english but our waiter told us everything we wanted to know. If we could go back 3rd time we would but we are leaving and i can recommend this place 101%

Wow...just WOW! My husband and I dropped in for an early dinner and we were not disappointed. It is a quaint and cozy place with only 6 tables seating about 22 people. Next time, I will definitely make a reservation to ensure we have a table. The food was delicious. The menu has several appetizer options in addition to full meals. I thoroughly enjoyed the rosemary steak while my husband feasted on beef medallions in a puff pastry. We ate everything on out plates and enjoyed it all! They have a nice selection of wine and hard liquor. The service was great too. We didn't have to wait long for the food to be cooked. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and we most definitely will return for another fantastic meal.

Very cozy and nice place with excellent delicacies. I love the broken bamboo eggs, the divine fish soup, the arachord, the meat and all the other dishes I have eaten, all with an excellent presentation and very well confectioned, not to mention the delicious desserts. Excellent food and ambiance. Our host was superb and recommended very good wine. We had the mushrooms and peppers to start and risotto steak for main course. Compared to other restaurants we have visited in Espinho it was sophisticated and the ingredients were a very high quality

We have now eaten in this small restaurant twice this week, the service is great. We ate a choice of starters, really delicious, with matching wine. Price-quality ratio is certainly great by Dutch standards, eat here when you are in Espinho!

Impeccable atmosphere, service and food! Always very well received! For lunch alone, dinner with friends or for two, Casta is always a wonderful choice, which pleases everyone I introduce it to. Rating 10/10! Highlight for the cover charge and sangrias, some of the best!!!

Cozy little place with a nice ambience and really good tapas. Next to wine and very good meat courses they also offer delicious vegetarian options, which is sometimes hard to find in portuguese cuisine. I would recommend this place to everyone who is looking for something special or more intimate.

Great food experience. Nice wine list - the selection of wine by the glass could be more diverse. We had the Casta steak - really good - and the codfish (the latter a bit heavy). The space is small but very well decorated. The staff are always there and are quite attentive.
