Friendly, nice place, not very loud, no problem finding a table, two floors, many locals, perfect to have lunch or do some work (pretty ok Wi-Fi). Food was rather average. 4 points only for coziness and quiet atmosphere to work in peace.

Very generous Cataplana dish with big mussels, clams, king prawns, fish, small prawn and vegetables. More than enough for 2 people and we also shared a sundae icecream for dessert. Nice and reasonably priced.

The portions are too small The inly good thing is the coffee which they bring a lot of it. Tea didn't taste good The address is also a bit hard to find although... More

A nice, quiet cafe on a typical side street offering great coffee and food at a reasonable price. The staff are very friendly and accomodating too.

Said to be the oldest caffe in Oporto, with excelent service and food! The prices are very reasonable - the environment can be quiet or very loud depending on the day and time. You usually see a lot of regular costumers (sometimes older people) among students and tourists! A place to sit down and enjoy your time without rushing.

It is considered the oldest "Café" in the city but now It hasn't nothing antique! The place is a disappointed for who think to find an historic coffeeshop because it was totally renewed. Despite of this, you can eat or drink something normal with a good quality and paying a right price. The prices are often strange and not "rounded"... More

We went to this place during our short holiday in Porto. The place was suggested as a good place by the cityguide Stop4 Porto. Although we had a good meal and the service was kind, we thought of the place as being just a regular cafe. Nothing special. You do get value for your money. The terras is not too... More

We read the reviews being the oldest cafe so we took the trouble to look for it. Found it finally behind the back street but kind of disappointed upon entering . It doesn't give the quaint feeling but rather modern after undergone renovation I guessed. Order the pastries which were ordinary and the coffee which not that fantastic . I... More

Café Progresso advertises itself as the oldest cafe in Porto, and after all these years, they still serve the delicious and famous "Café de saco". They also serve food, and although it is not splendid, it is good value. Most of the staff are friendly, and the ambiance is pleasant and unpretentious.
