The restaurant has both tables inside and "tables" created directly on the wall overlooking the port, this makes the location truly spectacular. The offer consists of an excellent selection of wines and various culinary proposals to accompany them (mostly platters and cold dishes, with good attention to the quality of the raw materials). Perhaps more suitable for an aperitif than a dinner, in any case it is certainly worth a visit.

Stylish wine bar with excellent tapas. Friendly service. You can only pay cash or with Portuguese bank card, but it's worth the diversions to the ATM. Anyone in Porto who wants wine tasting in a beautiful location on the Douro should be here!

We stopped on an evening to view the river and people watch with nice wine and nibbles. We had seen it on this site and had it on the list of places to go. Your lucky to sit straight down on one of the outdoor seats against the wall which have the best views but we managed to strike lucky. The staff were lovely and friendly. When they brought the wine out they would explain its origin and flavour which was a nice touch. The views are incredible and definitely the selling point for this bar. But with it being a key location right over the river, the prices have not been inflated to reflect this and prices were very reasonable. We stayed for a few hours trying different wines and nibble food and would definitely visit again. Well worth a visit to watch the river and activities along the water.

A nice place, well decorated. A nice view for those outside (there were so many of us inside). Tapas and wines good but a little expensive (11 euros for a “tapas” plate of good octopus…). Service not great… two waitresses overwhelmed because too many people, not very friendly, one of whom had such long nails (I had never seen such long ones in my life) in short it didn't have the looks convenient for service. To retest p-e out of season?

Thank goodness for the view. Otherwise, the waitress forgot our order twice. We ordered bread, olives and mushroom tapas. After 30 minutes we asked and they made out that it was still being made, but the mushrooms were cold, so it's obvious they just forgot again. They only charged for two glasses of wine in the end so that's a positive. This would feel like it redeemed the issue but then they said they only take Portuguese cards so it had to be cash. That's a first, I should think even a Portuguese card is visa or Mastercard. I had to take a 10 min round trip to find a cash point, right at the end of the night when you want to be getting home. The view and environment is obviously spectacular by the river, so if you just want a glass of wine in the area then it's fine. I don't recommend getting food and should have listened to our hotel when they said to avoid getting food by the river.

FEELING: 😒 The service here was sooo slow. It took over an hour for us to order and pay for 2x small glasses of wine and staff was rude. 👎CONS: The waitress that welcomed us seemed to forget about us being present and never took our order and was upset when we asked to sit outside after a couple had left 2 seats empty by the wall (we still hadn’t ordered at this point). On the flip side a younger waitress was very kind and was attentive though she was serving other tables, she took time to take our order. She was actually nice. 👍PROS: The view is amazing and almost made up for the crappy experience, however there are plenty of other wine bars and restaurants a stone throws away that can offer the same view. Visit those instead is my advice! ⚠️FYI - this is a cash only place 💰

If you want a stunning view for a pre dinner glass of wine and a small tapas - this is your place. The wine is chilled and delicious. However this is NOT a restaurant and the tapas are average. The shiitake mushrooms and peppers were served in dishes so small - they resembled Petri dishes ! The cod was ok. The tuna was dry. The waitress warned everyone to hide their cheese from hungry seagulls and that they would steal the cheese and ignore the fish. I think we worked out why ! They had good taste ! Would we return ? Yes for a glass of wine and bread and cheese

We had a really nice chilled time sat here. The girls serving were lovely and patient. It’s got a really chilled vibe, we enjoyed that. We had a glass of wine with three tapas choices and just sat back and enjoyed the view and people watching

I’ve never had to give a terrible review before but I’m afraid we finally came across a location that deserved it. The young lady who was waiting at 4pm on weekday we stopped off had an attitude that we were wasting her time. Yes it has a fabulous view but we decided to walk out on the last snooty remark she gave to the person not drinking alcohol. So avoid if you want a refreshing mineral with a wine drinker.

You'll need to look up to find Wine Quay Bar because it is not at street level—great news for the view and to keep the crowds away. Snag a seat on the balcony and relax. So much fun that we went twice! Wine list was lovely and the cheeses, tomatoes, and meats we tried were delicious and beautifully plated. Highly recommend and extra credit for all the things they make out of wine corks!

Perfect spot to people watch while sipping wine & nibbling. Very friendly staff who were well informed of their products, listened to what we liked, and presented us with wonderful tastings. Fabulous view of Luis I bridge too.

We came here under the impression that they had many port options, but they mostly serve just one brand. They have a beautiful patio area facing the river but even if there are seats available and you are inside, they refuse to let you move outside, which is crazy. Don't they want people to see other people enjoying drinks on their patio - brings more business? Disappointed. There are so many better options on the Ribeira.

We visited here for a pre-dinner drink on a Friday evening. The bar occupies a prime location on a narrow raised walkway by the Rio Duoro and offers great views of the Ponte Dom Luis I and across the river to the port cellars of Vila Novo. We sat outside where there are 6 chairs and a metal table and savoured a lovely white and a tawny port with a selection of cheeses, bread and some olive oil. This is a great spot for sunset with a really good selection of moderately priced wines. The young lady serving us was really engaging and friendly. Definitely one to visit.

We went off a recommendation from my cousin. We got seated right away. We were a group of 4 adults and one 3 year old. The owner of the bar personally came up to us and asked if she could give our daughter toys to play with. She came out with two bins of toys so our daughter was entertained while the rest of us enjoyed our wine. The owner also personally served us. She made recommendations and when we choose one she smelled the cork and did a tasting to make sure the bottle was up to par. Then my sister did the tasting to see if we wanted it. After she served us, she joined our daughter to play with her. Eventually she asked if it was okay if she left to have dinner, told us that our girl was free to keep plying and introduced the server who would continue to help us. This experience was amazing. It warmed my heart that she made the wine bar fun for our daughter. The wine bar overall was great. Excellent views of the river and a really good wine selection. We really enjoy the bottle we got. We will be going back before we leave Porto.

Fantastic location overlooking the Douro with Gaia opposite. There is a well-chosen wine list with a selection from the main regions of Portugal and few from elsewhere. The food menu offers appetisers, cheese, cooked meats, caned sardines, tuna, salt-cod, and seafood dishes: octopus, mussel, shrimps, soup. The welcome was warm and multilingual, the prices very reasonable and the food and wine excellent but the great thing about this place was the attention given to helping you choose your wine, what to go with it and the time taken to explain Portuguese wine and port. Wine sold by the glass or bottle, with or without food by passionate people in a perfect spot. Marvellous!
