We had a large lunch so we just wanted something light for dinner. The variety of their pies is incredible. They have lots of meat, cheese and vegetarian choices. They are all freshly made and reasonably priced.

I came across a recommendation in two guidebooks about this veritable institution of a century-old pie shop, so of course I had to poke my nose in and see what the fuss was about. I arrived in the late afternoon and had no idea if...More

They're masters in pies: chicken pie, potato pie, cheese pie, pumpkin pie, pepper pie and so on! The sweets are delicious as well. Everything is handmade of course...There are no tables, it's street food. Just visit it.. There's certainly something to your liking!

I went for the most simple option, a pie called "kuru". I just loved its taste, simple, without being oily, and its price. One of the best snacks I had in the centre of Athens.

Try the spinach and chicken pie, are the best I ever had - Ariston is well known for their traditional cheese pies but i love the chicken and meat pies. Tourists must also try the products here, originally Greek in very good prices.

The original street food before it became a thing. This is how filled pitas should taste, offering a wide variety of classics. You might find filled pitas that offer brighter choices elsewhere, updated for the foodie palate. This is old school food, the place definitely...More

Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is
Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament
building on its upper side and surrounded by other
large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande
Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia
are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like
the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia
Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents,
