RESTAURANT'S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 28 July 2016 via mobile

We were so pleasantly surprised with this restaurant! My fiance and I enjoy eating healthy in our travels, and sometimes that comes at a cost. Not only was the food delicious, but also very affordable. The staff was very welcoming, and the service was wonderful. I would eat here every day if I could!

Very health and tasty food! Staff is friendly and the building is old Athenian style. Vegan options too , that is not very common in Greece. Thr quality of food is also high and I have never faced any stomach problems after my visits there!

A little bit more more than average pizza in a place with quite good and cozy upper floor, prompt service and a pretty good menu to choose from. The pizza itself needs “something” more probably in terms of individual ingredients and their balance, but the dough was slightly better than the usual pizza around, which makes a difference. Sure it... More

It was only a walk of a few blocks away from our hotel, Zappion. We dined outside on their patio and enjoyed the atmosphere. Great organic pizza, thin and crispy, as it ought to be, but the real surprise is the lamb with rice and delicious rose wine. The staff is very nice, helpful and attentive. Prices are quite fair... The food had nice, intriguing original touches added to traditional Greek dishes. Not always successful. Service good, if a bit slow. Wine selection poor, but reasonably priced. Nice selection of desserts. Overall, nothing to be excited, but a good value for your money , and if you are in the vicinity ,do stop by.

Mystic Pizza and Pasta was on the list of local recommended places to eat local to where we were staying on a recent two night stop-over in Athens. We had great hopes of this attractive restaurant which traverses several floors of a pretty older building. We were shown to our table, provided with menus which held an interesting array of... I love this place! I hadn't tasted similar before. Don't go if you hate healthy and light. This place does not have artificial flavoring and greasy foods. My favorire is the "mystic baby" house-made pasta, and I adore the crunchy chocolate treat at the end. The environment is cozy and homey. The service is good and prices are normal.

A warm evening spent in this charming small restaurant in a beautiful neighbourhood at the back of the stadium, was enough to put this place in our top favourite places. 4 people, 1 starter, 1 salad, 1 pizza, 2 pastas, wine and 2 beers for 44 Euros. And the best part, delicious food served in a beautiful small terrace. We... More

Staying in Pangrati

Neighbourhood Profile
Pangrati
The elongated Panathenaic Stadium, built for the first modern Olympic Games in 1896, acts as grand gateway to the otherwise purely Athenian neighborhood of Pangrati. This area of typical small squares, busy main roads and residential streets will give you a clear sense of what living in this metropolis is like. A walk up quiet Markou Mousourou Street on the west side of the stadium will bring you past the First National Cemetery to Mets, home to many expats. Turn right to reach the charming Platia Varnava. East of the stadium, commercial Eratosthenous Street leads to rather nondescript Platia Plastira, from where Effranoros Street continues uphill to Platia Profiti Ilia, crowned by a huge church. Among the standard four- to six-story apartment blocks that typify Athens, Pangrati also boasts some genuinely authentic tavernas and the odd trendy bar.
