We found this place using trip advisor and we were not disappointed. It may look a bit neglected from the outside but we were not discouraged at all. We have tzatziki which were amazing and lamb souvlaki also worth a mention. Host was kind and attentive as previously mentioned here. We got halva and limoncello on the house. It may... More

What a wonderful little restaurant we were lucky enough to have right by our hotel. It is nothing fancy, but you feel as if you are a guest in Marco's home. He is so hospitable and attentive, and seems to genuinely care that you enjoy yourself and the food. The portions were large, the food was fresh and delicious. As... More

Very warm and friendly host who made me feel at home! I had the best calamari (freshly delivered that morning) I've ever eaten and it was incredibly good value for money. And right in the city centre of Athens. I'll definitely be going again.

I have started to mistrust trip advisor after visiting this restaurant on first night in Athens.why have people rated it, is it just because they get a free drink and dessert?? Honestly the place smelt bad, it was dirty and the food was oily and seemed to have been cooked earlier and then reheated. I had the moussaka and was... More

The couple own the restaurant are really nice but the food is terrible, and kitchen is dirty. I was never disappointed with salad which doesn't required you to be a chef to make a good Greek salad, but seems like they do not store vegetables in fridge and it change colour and taste weird. Fish was tasteless and frozen burnt... More

The host here was so lovely--so welcoming and friendly. The food was quite good, and very reasonably priced. We really appreciated the desserts that we were given at the end of the meal. Honestly, this was a great little place.

Marco, the owner and our host, made our dinner extra special. He was warm and hospitable as if we were guests in his home and was incredibly attentive to all the diners - exemplified when he came rushing outside with a new set of cutlery upon hearing someone's fork hit the floor! The place itself doesn't look much but the... More

I came here invited by 500 and more great reviews. I can only agree. Food is fantastic, fresh, great quality and genuine. The owners are so kind, so gentle that I got in love with them. Mezes were genuine and fresh and moussaka was excellent. At the end they 'gifted' me of house dessert and limoncello (and limoncello was great... More

We stayed 3 days in Athens & ate here 3 times! It is directly opposite Athos hotel. One night we asked to take the meal away so we could enjoy it with the acropolis view from the hotel rooftop - they provided cutlery & gave us a glass of wine while we waited. The food is great & properly cooked... More

After reading about the reviews of this joint, we had to check it out. It did not disappoint. It is small place to be. It does have that charming rustic feel like you were eating at a local place as a local. Marco was an one man as the greeter/host/cook/waiter. He still have the time to ask and talk to... More

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
