2nd visit here after 4 years. Same like before everything was perfect: nice inside setup, good services - answering to all our questions - and very tasty food. We had different small plates from a large variety of foods and everything was well cooked, but the shrimps were the best.

Just spent five days in Athens liked restaurant so much ate there twice. Fish was of real good quality as was Paella. The place had real buzz and was really busy and this was February.Waitress made small mistake and was so apologetic and concerned. Good value for money

Had lunch at this restaurant in January 2017. The food (steak and salad) were mediocre and the service very indifferent. We had to keep jumping up and down to get the waitresse's attention. It was like she was looking to down to avoid seeing us. The salad was overburdened with sauces.

It's one of my favourite restaurants in Athens. The atmosphere is really nice and it has a beautifull back-side yard. The staff is always kind and friendly. Located at the center of Athens, it is very easily reachable. The menu diverses from tasty tapas to more gourmet dishes, so feel free to try everything! Don't forget to take a look... More

The place is well located, nearby the metro and in a beautiful street. The staff is very friendly and warm. Food is good and portions are generous. We went as family and the kids (13 and 9) were treated very well.

Very nice atmosphere, excellent cousine and fair prices. Pet friendly, i usually go with my dog. My pick of the town. The backyard is very beautiful and elegant. Try the dishes of the day. Recommended for both fish and meat. I usually avoid restaurants that offer both because i like the expertise but this is an exeption.

This place stand as an exception in the bohemian/anarchists' Exarheia area. Excellent food, bio quality, high value of money choice, genuinely friendly staff and owners.

Salero offers a large variety of dishes, mostly of the Spanish cuisine with Italian touch. Maybe it was unlucky, but we came when the restaurant was packed so not all dishes were available for order, and the waiters were always busy so it hurt the service a little bit. We had 2 types of pastas, one with chicken and tomatoes,... More

Although it offers many and varied choices for eating and drinking, the area of Exarcheia can be very hit and miss when it comes to having a genuinely good meal: thankfully, Salero does not disappoint and offers truly tasty dishes, with notable attention to detail, that won't break the bank. With an extensive menu of starters, salads, tapas, pastas, entrees... More

Staying in Exarchia

Neighbourhood Profile
Exarchia is in many ways Athens’ best-kept secret, discovered by relatively few international visitors. Located behind the main University and Polytechnic buildings, it is unsurprisingly home to many students, intellectuals and politicos. This is reflected in the area’s vibrant street art and graffiti, which seems to cover almost every inch of wall space. Some of the best Athenian tavernas are located here, as well as its most alternative bars and underground music venues. You'll find political bookshops and quirky stores here, yet it is also a neighborhood inhabited by families and older folk. On Saturdays, punks and grandmothers alike head for Kallidromiou Street, nestled below Strefi Hill, to pick up fresh produce at the traditional laiki agora (street market).
