This restaurant is there for many years and is well known to Athenians. It is located at the root of Acropolis hill and if you seat outside there is a nice view of it. It is a nice restaurant with simple decoration. The food is quite tasty. The quantity and the quality of food is good enough. The staff is... More

Good food at a reasonable price with good service. We had souvlakia , one chicken and one pork with tzatziki which was very tasty. There are a lot of restaurants next to each other but this was recommended by a driver from PK Travel and I had seen this on trip advisor. It is definitely worth visiting.

This was a find on our last night and was only 2 minutes from our apartment. Great Greek food with HUGE portions...we couldn't finish it all. The prices were extremely reasonable especially being in the heart of the tourist area. Best was the evening view of the Parthenon and Ancient Agora.

Honestly, some of the best Greek food we had on our whole trip. Sea Bream, feta with honey and sesame seeds, tzatziki, and zucchini croquettes were some of the standouts. Don't miss this local feeling spot.

A great traditional Greek Restaurant. Right near the entrance to the Ancient Agora. Service was excellent with waiters that seem to have been working there for many years. They knew their menu well and had great recommendations. Would happily eat there again.

This restaurant is in an area full of tavernas and other eating places. It stood out because it was almost full, both on its outside terrace and inside. We tried homemade food style and it was very good: goat soup and lentil soup were perfectly cooked. The pasta with octopus was interesting because it had some cinnamon too. The spinach... More

I don't have a very high opinion about restaurants in touristic areas in general and that goes not only for Athens but worldwide. In that sense choosing this one during my last visit to my home town proved to be an excellent choice. Try the goat soup, a special traditional Greek dish known to those that used to party till... We had been given this recommendation and were not disappointed. Charming staff, fast service, great food and wine, what more can you ask for?

Staying in Monastiraki

Neighbourhood Profile
Monastiraki is a souvenir-hunting enclave with a difference. Apart from the dramatic backdrop of the Acropolis, its network of alleys and pedestrianized streets surround the remains of both the Greek and Roman agoras, adding the quaint concept that this is where the ancients also came to shop. Named after the tiny monastery church at its center, Monastiraki Square is a lively spot by day or night, with street peddlers vying for your attention to sell you nuts and sweets. Down beside the metro station, the official Flea Market is an unbroken row of souvenir shops until you come to antique-oriented Platia Avissinias, while Pandrossou Street on the other side of the square offers more tourist shopping. The pedestrianized street beside the Greek Agora is lined with cafés offering fine views.
