We decided to visit 7 food sins restaurant for 2 reasons: 1. Because me and my husband absolutely adore plaka and 2. Because we read nice reviews from TripAdvisor and saw some very nice pictures. I can easily say that the food was really mediocre, everything fried was really of a bad quality, the oil was smelling and we couldn't... More

RESTAURANT'S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 8 April 2017 via mobile

I needed to come a second time before writing this review. I couldn't understand how anyone could give this gem less than 5 stars!? Well it is outstanding both at dinner and lunch. It's just a hair off the main strip and this makes it a bit quieter and such a lovely experience . Their food is divine with a... More

After three days of indifferent possibly unlucky we stumbled on 7 Food Sins Gastro Pub, what a great find. The restaurant has a large choice of craft ale and lagers I opted for one of the Wheat beers which hit the spot nicely. The restaurant was quiet, relaxed not pretentious, the service was very fast and attentive throughout. We started... More

We went there on an Thursday evening together with a colleague visiting us from abroad. I was happy with choosing this restaurant, everything was perfect, the food was very tasty and the service was discrete and efficient. We had the crunchy moussaka which was delicious and I ordered the smoked pork souvlaki as a main dish which was presented amazingly... More

From the bread to the amouse bouche to all the seafood dishes we ordered (friday catholic lent) was unbelievably tasty and well presented. Then to top it off, a Chocolate fondant to go with a silky smooth Pistachio Gelato! Met the chef ans thanked him for it was our last meal before heading back home the next day. Keep doing... More

While "7 food sins" is located at a purely touristic neighborhood of Athens, it is surprisingly different from other similar restaurants in Plaka district. The owners of the restaurant identify it as a Gastro pub, in the sense that the restaurant offers classical dishes that you can find in a Pub or Greek tavern, but with a more modern touch.... More

We visit this place in the morning of our last day for breakfast. We ate egg-benedict and it was delicious. And the service was good. I suggest this place.

Situated in a beautiful little square in the Plaka in an impressive neo-classical building. Relaxed atmosphere, nice wines, and lots of tasty treats. A nice refuge from some of the more touristy microwave moussaka places. A good place to hang and kill a couple of hours Greek-style. No one will rush you out and it is easy to just keep... More

Description
You couldn't speak yet, but you could taste. The flavors were explosions in your mouth.

They changed you. They tought you to share. Eat light. Eat with remorse. They tought you to fear the 7 sins of eating:

Being gluttonous.
To envy the food of your neighboor.
Eat with bare hands and lick your fingers.
To feed him/her in the mouth.
To be excited by the flavors.
To have your mouth filled.
To relax.

Still searching, but less. Fewer things are touching you. Better and better. Now you only seek for perfection.

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
