The restaurant is very well decorated and the food is great. Located in a small street, feel like you have time-traveled to the 80's. It’s very typical.

My boyfriend and I both had an excellent lunch here! He ordered the lamb and beef kebab with yogurt and tomato sauce and I ordered the lamb with oregano and spices that comes with french fries and rice and they were both delicious! Apple pie was amazing too and they gave us a complimentary wine with honey to end a... More

The waiter and owner could not have been more welcoming. Advising on places to visit and generally being superb hosts. Everything we tried was excellent. We finishes with Apple Pie nothing like your Mama made! This was lush, flaky filo pastry, cinnamon infused apples and golden honey and syrup, all combined with walnuts. It was DIVINE! We had the house... More

We stopped here for an early dinner our first night in Athens. It's a nice neighbourhood type place where the staff make a point not to coerce you in from the street. Food was simple but super tasty. We recommend the tzatsiki, lamb souvlaki and mousska. Decor was fun and thoughtful and the staff were happy to answer our questions... More

Very good price for very good food! Pork was pretty fatty but still good! Kebab was wonderful as was the falafel. Did NOT enjoy the house white wine but as a regular European traveler, I truly appreciated the free water! The 10€ meal was so much food for such a small price and was beyond filling! Would totally recommend to... More

This restaurant is one of the best restaurants in Athens !!! Also well known and highly appreciated by locals. We were here in October 2016 and now in March we always were extremely satisfied! The terrace is very cozy and we will come back each time we will visit Athens !! Reservation is required for lunch and dinner but you... More

We found this taverna by accident as it is tucked away from the busy main street, excellent food and service which made us return a few more times, lovely outside area very quiet with no traffic noise, very interesting decor inside. The owner had made some earings out of fix beer bottle tops and gave us some as a gift on... We were also first attracted by their sign stating that they do not pester people to eat at their restaurant. We had a very nice lunch. My partner had the lamb stew and I the Krasopoulio salad. The staff were friendly and it was very nice sitting out on the street.

In the heart of Athens there are a lot of restaurants and a large number of them have "barkers" urging people (they try to i.d. tourists) to try the restaurant for which they are working. It can be distracting and annoying. Seeing the signs stating "we do not hunt tourists" and their having no one on the street trying to... More

Staying in Psirri / Gazi

Neighbourhood Profile
Psirri / Gazi
Side-by-side neighbourhoods Psirri and Gazi provide some of the city’s prime nightlife. The almost claustrophobic streets of Psirri feature an interesting blend of original small businesses with the restaurants, cafés and bars that have recently sprouted up. The central artery of Agion Anargiron Street has lively places to eat or drink. Further west, you can visit the peaceful ancient cemetery of Keramikos, then cross busy Pireos Street to find yourself in Gazi. With the huge Technopolis performance and art complex converted from old gasworks at its heart, you really have to come at night to appreciate this maze of bars at its best, although a daytime stroll will allow you to admire the excellent street art.
