Enjoy sitting in a comfy chair at a harbourside taverna watching the world go by; but now experience something different. Leave the town centre on the airport road, pass the stadium on your right, go through two sets of lights. Some five hundred metres after the second set watch out on the right watch out for a building with white... More

The best chicken soup I have ever tried in restaurant! Many times we have been there and we loved this food! The decoration, the staff, the food, the location, the prices - everything is great! Recommended!

This is a really tasty restaurant, located off the main tourist drag - from the stadium, walk for 5 mins along El. venezelos street, heading out of town. the taverna decor is 1930s, very pretty. The cooked foods are lined up, head up to the hot plates for them to be described, there were around 15 choices, many vegetarian. Very... More

To find this place, follow the El Venizelou street from the center, past the arena and you will find it in a corner, a block after a very traditional cafeneion. This is far from a tourist restaurant, for three reasons: 1. It is located in a busy road, way off the tourist trade, about 20 minutes walk from the old... More

A place where business men and uni students go for a short lunch break. Affordable prices, nothing special in its menu. Just. A city corner place. Descent but not a must see.

Peinaleon is a great taverna serving excellent Cretan food, often a little different from the norm. It is on the road leading from near the Agora to the airport, about a 10 - 12 minute walk from town. Although thoroughly Cretan, it is reminiscent inside of a French bistro with dark wooden furniture. They have an excellent variety of food... More

brilliant restaurant we ate on successive nights. Limited menu which was excellent because everything was specially prepared. Busy on the second night but we will definitely be again. Service was excellent. We chose from the kitchen basically. Excellent and only just out from the main stretch.
