A very romantic restaraunt with a goreous view of the sea. The food is fresh and excellent and is only outdone by the attention and charm of the restaraunt staff.

Ate here on our half board dine around basis whilst staying at the Blue Palace resort. We had to pay an extra 26 euros each plus supplements on certain dishes (which weren't clearly pointed out to you) so we ended up with very average food (oer salty too) at high end prices. The tavernas in the local village of Plaka... More

My wife and I visited this very friendly taverna on the beach of the Blue Palace Hotel. Attentive service made one feel very well looked after. Harris, the manager, and this team cannot be faulted. The only tip we would say is that each dish was much larger than we expected so if u order Meze style to have a... More

While staying at the Blue Palace, we came across a special night with local foods and local music by a local band. I love Greek Food, and Greek Music. Maybe because I am a little biased (I am a Turk), and many things are alike, but, this taverna, the waiters, the smiling faces, recommendations, the folkloric dancers dancing into the... More

My husband and I ate here on our honeymoon three times while staying at The Blue Palace. Twice for lunch, and once for dinner. We were obsessed with both of our lunch meals that we decided to go back on our last night for dinner. The food at dinner was extremely salty- from the appetizers all the way too the... More

We had a lunch and a dinner at this restaurant during our visit to Elounda. The setting is spectacular and you really feel as though you are in Greece. The food was great and the service good. Unfortunately, when we went back for dinner another night we were disappointed. The food was barely warm and even though we spoke to... More

Incorporating the resort's signature color, the Blue Door is a typical Greek Taverna with a spectacular beach-front location. As part of its mission to remain true to island roots, the Blue Palace Resort & Spa has transformed an old fisherman's stone house into the renowned Blue Door Taverna. The top-quality, traditional Greek cuisine features a daily catch from the local fishermen, cooked over the open grill accompanied by Greek Meze.

The Story behind Blue

Blue is the color of Greece, the color of our flag, the color of the Aegean, the color of all the Greek islands..
In the old days when most of the men from the islands went to make a living from the sea, their women would wait anxiously for
their return. To ward off the evil spirits, they would paint the doors of their homes blue, as they believed that this color would
protect them from the evil eye and bring their husbands back safely to them.

Cretan Feast

Guests will have the opportunity to discover a unique ritual, the Cretan Feast: large bonfires will be lit at our private beach for the slow cooking of the famous “antikristo” lamb. Authentic local delicacies will be prepared on the spot; all under the distinct tunes of Cretan lyra. Guest will enjoy this unique cultural and gastronomical experience, while rejoicing in a landscape of breathtaking beauty by the sea and enjoying the unmatched facilities and unparalleled service of Blue Palace.
