We visited Peri Orexeos based on Rough Guide recommendation and mixed reviews from Trip Advisor. We were welcomed with open arms and the friendly service continued throughout the evening. We were disappointed with some of our meals, the moussaka bland and dry but the lamb chops highly recommended. However, would go back for the friendly faces and the delicious chocolate... More

Ordinary eatery. Nothing special. All the food is edible, but nothing more. The prices are too high.

We had to wait for over an hour befor we got our main course. My parents ordered just a main course and then they got the wrong dish. They had to wait extra for their moussaka. They were also having large troubles with the basic menu they offered first offering a chicken leg then apologized that they didn't have it... More

The place looks very nice. Staff is very friendly. Food was not that special, not very flavorful, although it took quite long to prepare.

This little restaurant provides quality food. The family really enjoy it. However, unusually for a Cretan restaurant/taverna, there is little choice for vegetarians - even the dolmadakia have meat in them, so unfortunately I won't be visiting again.

Whilst the place is quiet at lunchtime don't let this put you off. It is also named mamuse boutique on the main sign and is a cozy place. Prices were reasonable. I ordered beetroot and leaf salad which had cheese, it was delicious. Then I had the veal which although a little small was excellent. The service is good and... More

Fabulous, traditional Greek food. We asked the host for recommendations and chose a beet appetiser that became aubergine - delicious! All full, then two sweet treats. Three well fed and feeling in tune with the Oscar Wilde quote on the wall, for €36. We enjoyed the ambience, warmth of the host, the quality and flavours of the dishes - the... More

It used to be one of my favourite places in Heraklion. Although they never had rich menu, quality was granted. The last time we had visited it, many things were already finished.... Portions were way smaller than we were used to and food was not excellent, flavours were missing. It is still fresh and good but not any longer as... More

We ordered too much food, and on top of this, they provided not one free dessert, but two as well as some Tsipouras (strong alcohol like Ouzo without the sugariness). So we began with a beet salad with some local soft ricotta like cheese. It was really great. The beets were both roasted and marinated in some olive oil and... More
