With help from waiter settled on the special fish, which was sauteed bass fillets in an orange sauce. Had some grilled mushrooms to go with. Both dishes superb, a carafe of wine, water and bread + the standard complimentary dessert and raki left me feeling very happy indeed. Then I saw the bill and was even more impressed. Definitely recommend.

This was one of the few remaining restaurants i wanted to try . Stepping in, my partner whispered to me "how much do you think this is going to cost" Everything looked very expensive and fine dining. With unusual lighting features, open kitchen and beautiful decor. We took a seat and the gent who welcomed brought a paper English menu... More

I'm living in London, but whenever I'm going back to Heraklion I always have an urge to visit Parasties! It's basically traditional but with contemporary dishes that every food lover (and especially Greek food lover) should try. In the last years I find it hard to find restaurants that offer genuine traditional recipes and I always leave this place totally... More

We had lunch at this restaurant following the recommendation of locals. The decoration is imaginative, the atmosphere very pleasant. The restaurant is frequented mostly by locals, which is a good sign. Our dishes were very tasty and the portions were huge. We appreciated especially the Cretan salad with a large variety of vegetable goodies and topped with sour cream. The... More

One of the best places we have visited in Crete. Our host recomended this place and we decided to try it. We were surprised by this place. The food and wine was great. The waiter was very pleasant. Best wishes for them.

The food was nice if a little stodgy (carb heavy and not light Mediterranean cuisine) - liked the beef liver - but what was so disappointing was the lack of customer focus and empathy. We specifically asked for a non-smoking environment (knowing that, unusually, this was one Cretan restaurant that provided it) only to find ourselves in a room with... More

Very interesting mix between local Cretan cooking and innovation. The starters are innovative and open to new influences. Try the liver cooked in Cretan style: is delicious. If you take the meat never forget to abandon the tradition asking for some new suggestions of the chef

We had a table with view but we were unfortunate as there were smokers in the neighbouring tables. The veal steak I had was huge but it was impossible for me to cut it. Fortunately the chef came by with a huge carving knife and did the job for me. A rather dear dish at 20 euros which wasn't tasty.... More

An atmospheric, cozy place and of the most popular gourmet hangouts of Heraklion, since 2000. All these years 'Parasies' -as was the original name of the restaurant- has been opening its doors to foodies in a smaller, intimate and beloved place. Our desire and goal is to combine classic nostalgic flavors and special blends even at the simplest dishes so that we can please every taste. It is a daily challenge and a great honor for us, when guests, as we like to call our customers, recognize and appreciate our culinary philosophy. The quality food, the finest wine labels and a coordinated team, make sure you feel comfortable while enjoying scents, flavors and authentic recipes and offer you and your guests an ideal suggestion for quiet lunches and lively dinners. *According to the Cretan dialect parastia or parasia has been the traditional way of cooking in Crete for many years. A fire was set between two parallel rectangular stones and a cooking pan was put above. Thus 'parasia' was selected as the name of the restaurant, where the open kitchen dominates as a trademark.
