This was my choice for our first dinner in Copenhagen; one reason was the good reviews on TA, the other was it seemed a comfortable walk from our hotel (the Andersen) near the Central Station. We were well looked after; the owner is extremely pleasant and obviously keen to make your dining experience one to remember. The menu is varied... More

We ate at this restaurant our second night in Copenhagen. The food was very good; the atmosphere was pleasant and it was within walking distance from our hotel. The price was not inexpensive nor was it over the top in comparison to other restaurants in the area. All in all a very pleasant dinner.

Ate at Brasserie Degas after a week long cruise. The experience here was outstanding from the moment we walked in the door. Went early which was great. By the time we left, the restaurant was full. The two male waiters were very friendly, polite and very informative about the food and the ingredients. My husband had the set menu which... More

I don't often write reviews, but this was a fantastic experience - gorgeous food, including a dessert which was pure theatre (a globe of white chocolate filled with fruit and creme patissiere, opened up by having hot raspberry sauce poured over it). The service was excellent. I'd recommend it unreservedly.

On arrival the restaurant seemed pretty sleepy. Inside the door there was a set table with noisy Norwegians, singing and yelling. I had read on Trip Advisor that this would be a terrific restaurant, but was a little sceptical. But my scepticism would become ashamed. We were meet with a young smiling waiter who escorted us to the table. Surprisingly,... More

Impressive creative French cuisine in a small French Brasserie setting. The service is friendly and helpful and the chef was delighted to help our group have an outstanding vegetarian meal. We had 3 courses - and all had most attractive presentations, and had wonderful taste combinations. Prices are somewhat reasonable and our meals was about $75/ person. Excellent French cuisine... Had a superb dinner with friends on a quiet Sunday night so no reservation required. Very attentive waiter who looked after us really well. Had the duck which was delicious and huge portion. Monkfish was highly praised as was the sirloin steak. The creme brûlée was delicious as was the apple pie and the "mini taster" dessert had three substantial... More

It's now more than I week since I ate at Brasserie Degas but the experience is still very clear to me. The food was amazing and the service was in top. I started out with mussels which were unlike any I've had before. As the main course I chose the duck breast which was served with potatoes fried into a... More

I love this place. The food is fantastic, the service excellent and the admosphere relaxed and down to earth. Probably the best foie gras in town. Not to mension the desserts. Only one fault is the size of the courses. They are too big to finish. A great thank tou to Peter and Rasmus for the excellent service on a... More

We came to Brasserie Degas eager to be impressed since we had read so many good things about it on TA. Let me cut to the chase and tell you how our experience went. We got there at 6:30 pm and we found ourselves being the only ones there initially. More people came in later that night. The maître 'd/waiter... More

Staying in Frederiksberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Frederiksberg
Located between Noerrebro and Vesterbro you’ll find Frederiksberg, which is actually a municipality in itself but completely surrounded by Copenhagen. Here there are several fine theaters, from the experimental to the great Det Ny Teater (The New Theater) which specializes in transcribing the great London and New York musicals into Danish, and has done so for several years with huge success. In Frederiksberg you’ll find Denmark’s most beautiful (and expensive) city villas. These 4-5 square miles form the Beverly Hills of Copenhagen. Here you’ll also find Frederiksberg Have (Garden) which sports huge outdoor concerts, from classical to electronic dance music. To top it off, dining options range from cozy family restaurants to some of the area’s most trendy cafés.
