Era Oro is a difficult place to find since it doesn't have any signage and you have to know the exact address so you can ring the doorbell to be let in. Make sure you have reservations ahead of time as they didn't seem ready to let us in until we told them we had made reservations. The place is... More

Excellent food, Wine and service. Second to none. Number One choice for dining (lunch or dinner) In Copenhagen. Maybe the best Italian restaurant In Northern Europe !

Restaurant was recommended by hotel when we asked for "Italian food." We were told they had a kids menu (we were traveling with our two daughters, ages 15 and 12). A very pretentious waiter explained in a very complicated manner that we basically had two options, fourteen course, or a "shortcut" of nine courses. However we eventually learned we could... More

First it was wonderful to escape from modern Nordic cooking in Copenhagen. There will come a day when the fraud of that detestable cooking will finally sink in with the foodie yahoos. So in one sense Era Ora was refreshing in that it dispensed with the phony artifice that infects the Copenhagen food scene. The food at Era Ora was... More

Era Ora is a small Italian Restaurant where my wife and daughters (ages 17 and 14) enjoyed for four hours one of the best evenings in a restaurant we've had anywhere. The lone server Simone and single assistant managed the entire dining room (about 3-4 other occupied tables) with flair, charm and real knowledge about the food being prepared and... More

The tasting menu is delicious and the service is wonderful. The price, however, is quite steep, even when compared to NYC restaurants. I would recommend this restaurant only to those looking to splurge for a special occasion.

Food and service clearly one star level. The tasting menu takes you all around the Italian taste spectre, but in a light and very refined manner. The sourcing of products and the chefs ability to reinvent compositions is Italian cooking at its very best. Plus: we had Italian sparling wines to go with all the menu: try that!

Friday night, not too busy. No choice other than full tasting menu. With cheapest wine flight equated to more than £200 per head. The wines were excellent but impossible to do justice to the price. Food average but not good enough. I would definitely recommend avoidance.

The food is okay, but for the price we paid, the dinner should not end within 2 hours upon arrival. I know americans like their food served quickly, but europeans are different. We can spend hours dining. Service was mediocre, food good. The welcoming was very warm. However price does not justify what we got. Sorry only 3 stars from... More

By far some of the best food i have haf in Denmark, but also some of the most expensive, especially if you take the wine menu, but it is worth it, probertly the best wines i have tasted!

Staying in Christianshavn

Neighbourhood Profile
Christianshavn
Just across one of the many bridges from Indre By, you’ll find Christianshavn. An eclectic area with old brick lanes, houses dating back to the 16th century, and canals which are home to many boats and ships, some of which has been turned into restaurants or even serve as fully furnished homes. The best known attraction in Chistianshavn is Christiania, a “free town” of residents who squat on a former military area. However just a stone’s throw away from Christiania, you’ll find some of the most fashionable waterfront apartment buildings in Copenhagen as well as the splendid Royal Opera House.
