The place is a bit in the middle of nowhere. We went to the restaurant just because it had a high rating, but it was not worth the effort or the money.

We came here after reading a blog recommendation however it was very average. The restaurant is very touristic and the food is not exceptionally tasty. I had better food in Stockholm. The place is also very noisy, it is not even possible to chat with your friends . The meatballs also have pork inside, just for the information to those... More

My husband and I went on a search for delicious Swedish meatballs and came here on a recommendation from locals working at a nearby bar. They have a main course consisting of meatballs with delicious brown gravy, mashed potatoes and lingonberries. OUTSTANDING! Tasted like Thanksgiving dinner. So comforting and satisfying on a cold and rainy afternoon. Beautiful place with fantastic... More

Not only was the tap beer (un-filtered pilz) awesome, but our mains were out of this world. You'd be a fool to pass up this insanely cool, old place if you're in Stockholm. Highly recommended.

If you would like to try classic Swedish food, this is together with KB one of the best places in Stockholm. Especially the meatballs are good, but als the Grosshandlarmiddag, but that is more a classic Gentlemens' menu.

The meatballs are just amazing. The restaurant serves traditional food but the interior design and lightning is so modern that it actually combines traditional and modern. The service was very nice as well. The bread and butter they got before meals are just perfect. It is pricy but definitely worth it!

A real 'back-in-time' experience in a restaurant that already received the test of time. One can start by trying the Swedish meat-balls for the fun of comparing the tastes. But there are other 'home-made' traditional dishes that must be experienced as well. Add a 'nubbe' to your dish.

Love love love the meatballs! We were very happy with the food and the service. Our waitress was very kind and helped us with all our wishes. If the weather is cold tru not to sit next to the windows because it gets chilly. Try not to go with cote de rhones if you want to have red wine. Sorry... More

This restaurant has an interesting decor, feels a bit like an old Belgic beer place. A bit over priced on the meals but tasty food. To bad that the service is week, get the feeling that staff are just waiting for the guests to leave.

Warm, traditional atmosphere with high quality food, you must try main courses especially fish courses during summer and autumn season

Staying in SoFo & Medborgarplatsen

Neighbourhood Profile
SoFo & Medborgarplatsen
Throughout the last decades these neighborhoods transformed from a rather quiet residential area into the birthplace of Swedish hipsterism and became Sweden’s main hub for new fashion labels, independent coffee shops and innovative gastropub concepts. Despite their extreme transformation, SoFo (South of Folkungagatan) & Medborgarplatsen managed to hold on to their residential charm and quietness and became one of the most sought-after places to live among young people in Stockholm. This neighborhood is also home to Sweden’s highest student hall, Skrapan, which used to be the head office of the tax authorities and now combines a mix of student hall and shopping mall with a bar on top.
