Temporarily relocated due to work on the galleria where it has been located (don't go by the website address - approach it from Sibyllegatan), the current location is very pleasant looking onto a quiet street. The menu specializes in fish and seafood, all of which is superb. Also, a good wine list with (unusually) approachable prices by glass or bottle.... More

Yes this is an expensive restaurant in a swanky part of town - but given the quality and the ambiance it is well worth a visit. We have been 3-4 times before in the SaluHall for lunch - at the moment the original fabulous building is having a refit and there is a temporary but actually excellent structure next door... More

This is a restaurant for the locals, the food is good but very locally oriented, the service is for the locals as well. The menu is moderate and the wine list is marginal, the service is sort of condescending and fast. It seems Stockholm folks like to eat fast. The food is average, we had two plates of fish, the... I first booked the restaurant for dinner, but since we were in the area for lunch at the beginning of our stay, we decided to try it for lunch too. Both times, the experience was very good, the service is friendly and pro, the fish is very fresh and they have a delicious "petit Chablis" which I recommend.

Delicious traditional Swedish food served in a bustling environment. I had cured salmon with potatoes. You can tell they take pride in serving dishes with the best ingredients. The sea food was excellent. My only complaint would be that it is a bit too expensive for what you get. You pay for the ambience and the crowd I guess.

We gather this is a bit of an institution in Stockholm for seafood and so took the precaution of booking to avoid disappointment. Unfortunately, we discovered the restaurant has been relocated to a temporary site/market while the old ornate historical market site is refurbished - that's just the luck of the draw but the new site lacks much in the... We have followed a tripadvisor recommendation and have discovered this little place among food stalls on the market "Saluhall" (at the moment the entrance is from the Sibyllegatan street, we had to call the restaurant for directions). We have had oysters and herring, salmon and an "Alexandra" starter with little shrimps and honey and mayonnaise dressing - all was very... More

Set in a food hall with its own delicatessen next to it so you can by some of the ingredients you have just eaten means it cannot go wrong. This is added to fantastic seafood menu and great good humoured service. It is very popular so book and go early is the best advice. We were there for lunch so... More

From market trader to purveyor to His Majesty the King. It all began in the early 1920s. Fisherman's daughter Lisa Elmqvist traded her wares at a street market by the waterfront, and customers quickly flocked to her stall. Her fish, shellfish and cookery skills were of such a high standard that she swiftly moved up to Ostermalms Saluhall - the perfect place to allow her ability to shine through. Today, 90 years later, the fourth generation of the Elmqvist family continues her work assiduously from the same stall, gaining more and more experience and ambitions. The restaurant has recommendations in Guide Michelin for the last 10 years in a row. During the renovation of the old market hall from 1888 you will find us at the temporary market hall at Ostermalstorg. We will move back summer 2018.
