Had a drop in lunch Place was empty and interior not very satisfying. Menu half veggie half normal. Supposed to be Japanese but it is Chinese run and owned. 90 kr for lunch Service good. Tea and miso included in lunch. Not good but not very bad. Will not return.

Kokyo is a cute little restaurant in town that has a large selection of both veggie and meat options, with the veggie being good for vegans as well. While not my idea of "traditional Japanese" entirely, the tea was excellent and the food fairly good (mine was a little under sauced but my friend's was perfect) and we didn't feel... More

A nice, smallish place, serving Chinese and Japanese style dishes. Their vegetarian selection, including products from their own doufu workshop (!) is interesting and tasty.

The service was a bit slow but the food was excellent including (I think) home made tofu. It was not too expensive for Stockholm and the Chinese/Japanese fusion menu had a wide choice, including plenty for vegetarians and vegans as well as meat eaters

I Love this place. It is always full so make sure to book a table. Try their home made tofu, and the sushi is really cheap for lunch.

Lately there has been a lot praise of the dumplings at Kokyo. So I went there and had some. Imagine my surprise when my serving consisted of a eight moderately exciting dumplings, with varying content. Kokyo is a very sympathetic and simply designed restaurant, which therefore needs to bring on surprising dishes. I give it another chance.

Great vegan, they do their own tofu - and different kinds! Lots of options on the menu. Good price too, around 130-170sek

After having read so much about Kokyo, I decided to give it a try, being a vegeterian I was very happy to read about their extensive offering. And must say I was pleasantly surprised to find a chinese restaurant with such an extensive selection of tofu recipes. Some reviewers here call it a Japanese restaurant but I think this is... More

Visited the restaurant twice on weekdays - noticed it's very busy between 6.30 and 8 pm, but afterwards you'll probably find a place to sit even without a reservation. Good Japanese cuisine, several good options for vegetarians, at a very fair price. I actually had the same dish (the "Kokyo Wok") both times - worked for me... the sushi samplers... More

I found Kokyo on Google maps when in Stockholm and looking for vegetarian places to eat. Although Kokyo isn't actually a vegetarian restaurant they have the most amazing vegetarian dishes. There are 21 items and they even make their own tofu! The range was fantastic, wonderful dumplings, salads (with the aforementioned tofu!) and sushi. The tea was really good too,... More

Staying in Vasastan

Neighbourhood Profile
Vasastan is one of those neighborhoods that almost looks too good to be true. It has the winning combination of a central location, tranquility, and beautiful buildings – housing sophisticated bars and eateries – that makes this neighborhood Stockholm’s most sought-after place to live. If walking through this area makes you feel like walking through a fairy tale or picture book it’s no surprise, as it’s actually the film set of the famous Swedish children story Karlsson-on-the-Roof. No matter what season, Vasastan manages to impress in the sunshine, covered in snow and won’t even lose its charm when soaked in rain.
