This place is perfect if you want to experience a traditional Swedish restaurant. I had the meatballs which were delicious! Great atmosphere, friendly waiter and loved the bar downstairs for drinks after!

We came to XCARET with a group from our convention. Great setting, lots to see or do or just relax along the water. The highlight was the show in the evening: overview of Mayan history, Mexican culture and music plus we had an exceptional meal! When in Playa, it is a must.

Centrally located adjacent to a big square with a lot of bar for a late drink in the summer never ending nights. Less than 100 m from a metro station. The ambience a traditional Swedish restaurant and they serve traditional Swedish dishes. Clients are mostly locals (not so many tourists). Big dining room, good choice in the menu and in... More

The restaurant had great typical Inexpensive Swedish Lunch offers(99kr), which gave a simple choice. Other menu items were available. We had the 'all you can eat buffet' with soup+bread starter then Swedish pancakes with excellent strawberry preserve and whipped fresh cream followed by coffee. It can be very busy at lunchtime, and we found the service a little slow even... More

Wanted to try Swedish meatballs while here in Stockholm and heard that this was a good place. So, we ordered the meatballs and certainly weren't disappointed. The plate came with five very large meatballs, three scoops of buttery mashed potatoes, pickled cucumber slices and lingonberries. Awesome meal.

We had the weekend brunch which is served on saturdays and sundays two times a day. We had information that the restaurant served quite traditional Swedish food and that turned out to be true. The buffet brunch had dozens of different foods from omelettes and pies to pea salads and fresh fish. The dessert table was a phenomenon of its... More

The brunch was here was ok! There was quite a lot to choose from and nicely presented. The dessert table was uninspiring and boring!

Very cosy and pleasant lunch. Good price. Friendly service. Many locals (young and elderly) seem to enjoy the place also.

Staying in SoFo & Medborgarplatsen

Neighbourhood Profile
SoFo & Medborgarplatsen
Throughout the last decades these neighborhoods transformed from a rather quiet residential area into the birthplace of Swedish hipsterism and became Sweden’s main hub for new fashion labels, independent coffee shops and innovative gastropub concepts. Despite their extreme transformation, SoFo (South of Folkungagatan) & Medborgarplatsen managed to hold on to their residential charm and quietness and became one of the most sought-after places to live among young people in Stockholm. This neighborhood is also home to Sweden’s highest student hall, Skrapan, which used to be the head office of the tax authorities and now combines a mix of student hall and shopping mall with a bar on top.
