we had dinner there and ordered different tapas from the menu. unfortunately none of them where tasty or even delicious. it's really a pitty, but with such an interesting location (old cellar) you should make more out of it. the only thing to mention is the friendly waitress.

After a day of travelling El Vasko Tapas Bar proved to be a great choice in which to unwind. We enjoyed a tasty selection of Tapas dishes in the cosy surroundings of this cellar restaurant. Good food, good wine and good service!

We had a large group on a Tuesday nite looking for a table for dinner. Various restaurants in the area were quite crowded. Vinvalet was able to seat us quickly. That was great. As others have said, the basement setting is quite unique and cozy. And the service was quite competent. That said, the food seemed a bit ordinary to... More

Came here with friends and was served good tapas. But they forgot dishes we had ordered, and was not asked for more wine or desert. Good tapas but awful service.

Between my friend and I, we ordered five dishes and we love them all. The paste and duck were surprisingly good. The wine list was excellent. The place is small but cozy. We had a good discussion and no problem hearing each other. The restaurant is next door to Hilton and just across from Gamla Stan. There are a number... More

Cosy, tasty & creative! All their tapas are well thought through and nicely decorated. My absolutely favorite are their stuffed peppers with meat or fish. Don't hesitate! Go for both ;)

I've been to many tapas places including in Spain and this one is by far the best I've visited. The food was amazing and the whole layout and lighting arrangement makes for this restaurant a perfect afterwork or latenight dinner with friends. The red sangria, Pan con tomate, shrimps wrapped in bacon and the entrecote dishes are a must! The... More

Based solely on the food I would have given 5/5 without question. Great flavours, good portions for tapas, reasonably priced for Stockholm. The downsides were: 1) we sat outside since the weather was lovely, but having since seen the photos definitely should have gone inside. We were right next to the doorway between this restaurant and Bla Dorren, which was... More

The place is located beneath ground in a cosy valve and to be honest, is quite romantic. Don't be fooled though, 'cos the food is straight from the fridge terrible.

This bunker-style tapas restaurant is charming - we enjoyed the intimate atmosphere, superb authentic Spanish tasting plates and excellent well-paced service including wine recommendations. We returned two evenings later (during our stay at the nearby Hilton Slussen), and were welcomed back as if we were locals. The prices are typically European but do make the effort to find this little... More

Staying in Slussen

Neighbourhood Profile
A unique mix of grotesque 1960s concrete urban vision and cosy historical Swedish brick houses, Slussen has become one of Stockholm’s most architecturally edgy and controversial neighborhoods. Plans to rebuild the area have been on the agenda for decades, however, so far no agreement could be reached, which is the reason for the continuing decay of its brutalist substance. Nevertheless, the museums and the main shopping street, Götgatan, attract both locals and tourists with Sweden’s most fashion-forward clothing retailers, hipster coffee shops and restaurants. Once the lights are out, the area turns into a bustling nightlife haven, catering to all preferences, from posh hotel bars to sweaty underground nightclubs. There is no better place to experience the clash between old and new Sweden.
